2 Introduction The PE1900 LCD monitor has a 19-i n ch active matrix TFT (thin film transistor) liquid crystal display module. It is designed for use with any W indows ® -based PC. Featur es Ö Automatic configura tion to the PC video set tings with maximum SXGA resolution.
3 If any of the following conditi ons occur , unplug the display and contact qualif ied service personnel: Ö The power cord or plug is frayed or damaged. Ö Y ou have spilled liquid into the display . Ö The display has b een exposed to rain or wat er .
4 Installation Please follow the instructions in this chapter to install your LCD Monitor . Note: Befor e connecting your display, first r ead th rough the instructions in this chapter and the safety precautions in the pr evious chapter .
5 The functions of the three contr ol buttons which are located at the lower left side of the f ront panel of your display are descri b ed as below: Button Function Descriptio n Select (1) Turn on OSD menu while it is off. (2) Execute the function selected in the OSD men u.
6 4. Plug the analog vi d eo signal ca ble into the Analog V ideo Input port on the bac k of the display (as shown above) . 5. Connect the other end of the v ideo cable into you r computer’ s video port. (Please check your computer’ s documentation if you’re no t sure where the port is located.
7 Using Y our Display This chapter contains inform ation about using your LCD M onitor . T urning the Display On and Off Use the power button locat ed at the lower right side of the front panel of the display t o turn the display on and off. When the display is on, the light (LED) near the Power button is illuminated.
8 T ilting the Display The monitors have a tilt f e ature that allows yo u to tilt the display back and fort h to find the most comfortable viewing position. T o tilt the display , grasp the sides an d push the display back or pull it toward you, or turn it left or right unti l it is in the desired p osition.
9 The table in “V ideo Mode” on p age 27 shows the image ref resh rates supported by the dis play at dif ferent screen resol ution. Although your LCD monitor s upports up to 75 Hz for a nalog video input, we recommend t hat you use 60 Hz refresh ra te for best perform ance.
10 Note: If the screen is still dirty , you can dampen th e cloth with se veral drops of dist illed water . Make sur e the LCD panel is completely dry be fore you turn the display back on.
11 Adjusting Y our Display This chapter contains inform ation about how to c hange display settings f or your LCD Monitor . It is designed with an OSD men u to help you easily adj ust to its optimum performance. Note: Y ou must perform auto-setup befor e making any adjustments.
12 Item Description Auto Adjust the “Auto Setup” . See “Adjusti ng Auto Setup” on page 12. Management Open the “ Management ” subm enu to select Brightne ss, Contrast or Im age Position for further adjustment. Se e Adjustment in the “ Management” Submenu on pa ge 13.
13 3. Use ‘ Select ’ button to select and execute the Auto Setup function. After the execution of the Auto Setup function, it w ill show the following message: If the image looks corr ect, choose ‘ Ye s ’ . OR If the image requires furt her adjustment, choose No .
14 3. Use ‘ Select ’ key to en ter the “Manag ement” Sub m enu. This activates four items for adjustment. If ‘Brightness’ is selected, use ‘ Up ( △ ) ’ o r ‘ Down ( ▽ ) ’ buttons to adjust the setting of brightness. The graphic bar and numerical value at the right corner respond s according ly .

16 Adjusting the “Clock/Phase” Submenu Follow the steps bel ow to adjust the “Clock/Phas e” submenu: 1. Activate the OSD “ Main Menu ”. 2. Use ‘ Up ( △ ) ’ ( o r ‘ Down ( ▽ ) ’) to move forwar d (or backward) to the clock/ phase icon and highlight it.
17 Adjusting the “Color” Sub menu Follow the s teps below to adjust the “ Color” submenu: Activate the OSD “ Main Menu ”. 1. Use ‘ Up ( △ ) ’ ( o r ‘ Dow n ( ▽ ) ’) to move forward (or backwar d) to the color icon and highlig ht it.
18 Note: As you choose an item, your scr een im mediately updates to r eflect this setting. Selecting ‘Black Level Adjust’ activates the “ Back Lev el A djus t ” submenu. Adju st its settin g by using the ‘ Up ( △ ) ’ a n d ‘ Down ( ▽ ) ’ buttons.
19 Adjusting the “O SD Display” subm enu Follow the s teps below to adjust the OS D Horizontal and V ertical positions: 1. Activate the OSD “ Main Menu ”. 2. Use ‘ Up ( △ ) ’ ( o r ‘ Down ( ▽ ) ’) to move forward (or backward ) to the OSD display ico n and highlight it.
20 Select ‘Exit’ to exit the “OSD Di spla y” subme nu and r eturn t o the “ Main Menu ”. Adjusting the Factory Recall T o recall factory settings back y ou should follow the steps below: 1.
21 Selecting your preferred Language Follow the s teps below to select one of the five languages: 1. Activate the OSD “ Main Menu ”. 2. Use ‘ Up ( △ ) ’ ( o r ‘ Down ( ▽ ) ’) to move forwar d (or backward) to the langua ges icon and highlight it.
22 Using the Direct Keys There are two direct keys that f u nction while OSD “ Main Menu ” is inactivated: “Auto-Set up” and “ Brightness.” Using the “Auto Setup ” Direct Ke y Use Auto-Se tup wheneve r you apply a new video mod e or change the re fresh rate.
23 If the image requires furt her adjustment, choose No , and the ‘Phase’ bar is activated for further manual adjus tment. Adju st the ph ase us ing ‘ Up ( △ ) ’ o r ‘ Dow n ( ▽ ) ’ buttons. When all text appears well-f ocused and the image is stable, pre ss the ‘ Select ’ key to end the adjustment and close the OSD menu.
24 T roubleshooting This chapter contains informatio n about how to troubleshoot your LCD M onitor . If you have tried all o f the it ems l isted below , plea se con tact qu alifie d ser vice pe rsonn el. A. My display doesn’ t work, even though the compu ter appears to work.
25 E. The imag e is very unstable. 1. Set your PC to a supp orted vi deo mode, preferably 1280 x 1024 at 60 Hz . See “Sett ing the V ideo Mode” on page 8. 2. Restore the original factory settings by choosing Factory Recall in the OSD “ Factory Recall ” submenu.

27 V ideo Mo des Y our LCD monitor su pports the following i ndustry-standar d combinations of screen resol u tion and refresh rates. Other c ombinations are possible, but m ay require adjustments to the ima ge. For optimum performance, set your PC to a screen res olution of 1280 x 1024 at a 6 0 Hz refresh rate.
