12 3. Quick Configuration 3.1 Set a fixed IP address In order to ma p network drive perm anently on any PCs that require them, we suggest to fix an IP Address to the LAN interface of NAS Don gle.
13 Secondary DNS Insert the secondary DNS address. 3.2 Disk Format During the first installation, it is necessary to format t he disk contained into HD D enclosure in order to create some default folder and save configuration (for BT client). Please select Disk Utility and press Format to start the formatting procedure.

15 4. Advanced Configuration 4.1 Status Provide the ba sic information for NAS Dongle. 4.2 Identification You can change and modify your host & group name, and password from this page.
16 FIELD MEANING Host Name This is used to identify your device on the network. If you prefer a differen t name, type in the new n ame and click “ Apply ” to save setting. Group Name This should be same as your work g roup. In g eneral, the default “ WORKGROUP ” w i l l b e O K .
17 4.3 Data/Time Setting You can change time setting form this page. Click s “ Apply ” to save the setting. By default SNTP is in network time service, your can also select “ Synch ronize to PC ”. If internet access is a vailable we recommend ed setting SNTP to Network time service instead.

19 4.5 Disk Utility In this page, you c an manage the hard disk setting. FIELD MEANING Format Disk For the first time installation, you need to format hard disk into FAT32 system file, this proce dure applies to either new or used hard disk. Scan Disk After the scan, it will show the num ber of file content and health status for the hard disk.
20 4.6 Maintenance This page allows you to updat e NAS dongle firmware, to go back to default setting or to reboot NAS system. Follow the st eps below to update th e loader and firmware f or NAS Dongle: 1. Obtain the latest firmware from y our vendor.
21 Click on Reset and go back to default password setting. Besides SAMBA/FTP account setting will still remain in the NAS Dongle, rest of se tting will go back to factory default. Press Reboot button to restart the US B NAS Dongle. 4.7 SMB Server SMB server allows you to share data or files thro ugh LAN environment.
22 How to create a SM B user Click on the “ Add ” button and type new account name/password and than “ Next ”. In the same time, NAS Dongle will also crate a SAMBA folder named “ atlantis ”; now You have to select “ atlantis ” and add in to “ Sharing List ”.
23 You can “ Run ” from window start button, type follow by the IP address (eg:192.168.1.12 1), and click OK to continu e. Type “ atlantis ” and password t o login. Now you have set up the folder that you wish to share on your NAS Dongle. The shared folder can be accessed from other computer on your local network.
24 How to modify account passwo rd Select the “ atlantis ” and than click “ Modify ”. Enter new passwor d and click “ Apply ” to save setting.
25 How to delete a SMB (SAMBA) account Select an account you wish to delete, click “ Delete ” to proc eed. Please n ote that all the data inside the folder wi ll be lost after th e delete. 4.8 FTP Server Remember t o “ Enable ” the FTP service on the status page, when you plan on using the FTP server.

27 4.9 Media Server The Media server on NAS Dongle can be used to share your photo and music files with a XB O X3 6 0® v i de o g a me c on s o l e fr om M ic r o s o ft t ha t is c on n e ct ed to t h e s am e l o c al network. Before you start, make sure both devices are connect ed to the same local network and turned on.

Install your Printer driver int o your comput er, (for exa mple. if Epson PL- 6200L Printer is c onnected to the NAS, you must install PL-6200L driver in to the computer first). After driv er installation, please click “ Start ” → “ Setting ” “ → Printer and Faxes ” “ → Add a printer ” “ → Next ”.
29 The NAS Don g le Printer server does not support GDI/Host-based printers. For some Multi Function Printers (MFP); scanning functions might not be functional pr obably.
