4 Note: If you use multiple monitors, the RADEON™ X600 card must be the primary graphics car d. Normally , the system BIOS determines which graphics card will be the primary . T o connect your monitors 1 Power off your compu ter and monitors. 2 Plug the monitor cables into th eir appropriate connectors.
Display Configurations 5 3 Power on you r monitors first, and then restart your com puter so that W indows® can detect the new hardware settings. 4 When the New Hardware Found W izard appears, at the appropriate prompt insert the A T I Installatio n CD to lo ad the drivers for your RADEON™ X600 card.

If the button is greyed out, the device is not an option. For example, if there is only one monitor connected, all buttons will be grey.

ATI Color Tab 13 T o create a De skt op or Full Screen 3D profile 1 Choose either the Desktop or Full Screen 3D radio button, as desired. Save button Saves your current color settings to a Desktop or Full Screen 3D profile, using the nam e you specified in the list box.

ATI Color Tab 15 Some 3D applications allo w you to switch easily between ful l-screen mode and windowed mode, and do not load th eir own color settings. In win dowed mode, you can make slider adjustments or select a differ ent profile on the Color tab, then switch back to fu ll-screen mode to see the effects immediately.
16 ATI Color Tab T o assign color se ttings hotkeys for full scre en 3D applications 1 Select a modifier key from the Modifier Key list. 2 Select a hotkey from the Hotkey list . 3 Select the action you want from th e Hotkey Action list. 4 Click Add to create the hotkey comb ination.
ATI Options Tab 17 To disable hotkeys (so th at you do not accidentally ac tivate them, for example), click the Disable Hotkeys checkbox. If you plan to use hotkeys, make sure this box is unchecked.

32 ATI VPU Recover Tab A TI VPU Recover T ab Hardware crashes may occur wh en a hardware device and the corresponding software device driver are no longer able to communicate with each other. VPU Recover enables the ATI display driver to detect when the graphics card is no longer able to respond to display driver commands.

Using TV Out 35 CHAPTER 4: Using TV Display and Capture Features Using TV Out V iew your PC’ s display on a TV The RADEON™ X600 has TV Out cap ability. You can attach your card to a TV and monitor at the same tim e. Or you can connect it to your VCR and record your monitor’s displ ay.
36 View your PC’s display on a TV OR St arting Windows® with TV Display Enabled The TV screen may becom e scrambled during the initial Windows® logo display. This distortion is on ly a tem porary effect, and your screen will be restored within a few seconds.

How TV Display Cannot Be Used 39 Viewing T ext on a TV A TV is designed primarily to show moving images. The large d ot pitch of a TV will yield poor q uality static im ages. The small text sizes commonly used for PC desktops can appear bl urred or unclear on a TV.
