Introduction Overview The Master View CS-1762 or CS-1764 DVI KVM Swi tch charts a revolut iona ry ne w direction in KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) switch functionality by combining a 2 port (CS-1762) or 4 port (CS-1764) KVM switch with a 2 port USB hub at the same time as it provides an i nt e rfa ce for a di gital moni tor (DVI).

Chapter 3. Basic Operation Manual Switching There are two convenient methods to access the computers: Manua l - which invol ve s pressing the pushbut t on port selection swi t c he s l ocated on the uni t ’s front panel; and Hotkey - which i nvol ve s ent ering combi na t i ons from t he ke yboard.
Powering Off and Restarting If it becomes necessa ry to Powe r Off the Ma st er View unit, before st art i ng it ba ck up you must do the fol l owi ng: 1. Shut down all the computers that are attache d to the swi tch. 2. Unplug the switch’s power ada pte r cabl e .
Chapter 4. Hotkey Operation The CS-1762 / CS-1764 provides an ext ensive, easy-to-use , hot key function t ha t m ake s it convenient to control and confi gure your KVM installation from the ke yboa rd. Hotkeys provide async hronous (i nde pe ndent) switchi ng of the KVM, USB hub and audio focus.
Going Directly to a Port Hotkey Action [Scroll Lock] [Scrol l Lock] [n] [Enter] Brings the K VM, USB hub, and audio foc us to the computer attached to the port correspondi ng to the specified Port ID. Note that the KVM, USB hub, and audi o focus all go to this port even if they were on di fferent ports to begin with.
Auto Scann ing The CS-1762 / CS-1764’s Auto Scan feature aut om atically cyc l es the KVM foc us through the comput er port s at re gul ar i nt e rva l s. Thi s al l ows you t o moni t or t he com put er activity wi t hout ha ving to take t he t roubl e of switching from port to port manual l y.
Hotkey Setting Mode Hotkey Sett i ng Mode is used to set up your CS-1762 / CS-1764 swi t ch confi guration. All operations begin with invoking Hotkey Setting Mode (HSM). Invoking HSM To invoke HSM do the following: 1. Press and hold down the Num Lock ke y 2.
Alternate Port Switc hing Keys The port swit c hi ng act i va t i on ke ys can be changed from t a ppi ng t he Sc roll Lock ke y twice ([Scroll L oc k] [Sc roll Lock]) to t a ppi ng t he Ct rl key twice. T o cha nge the port switching activatio n keys, do the following: 1.
List Hotkey Settin gs To see a listing of the current hotkey settings, do the following: 1. Invoke HSM (see p. 16). 2. Press and r elease the F4 function key. 3. Open a text edit or or word proc essor and use i t s Past e function to display the settings.
Firmware Upgrade Mo de To set the CS-1762 / CS-1764 to Firmwa re Upgrade Mode, do the fol lowing: 1. Invoke HSM (see p. 16). 2. Key in: upgrade 3. Press [Enter] . The front panel LEDs fl ash t o indi cate Firmware Upgra de Mode is in effect. Note: To exit Firm ware Upgrade Mode , you must power off the swi t c h.
Mac Keyboard Emulation The PC Compati bl e (101/ 104 ke y) keyboard can emulat e t he func tions of the Mac keyboard. The em ul at i on m appings are li st e d i n t he t a bl e be low. Note: When using key com bi na t ons, press and release the fi rst ke y (Ctrl or Alt), the n press and r elease the activation key .
Chapter 5. The Firmware Upgrade Utility The Windows-based Firmware Upgrade Utility (FWUpgrade.exe) provides a smooth, automated process for upgra di ng the KVM swi tch’s fi rm wa re. The Utility comes as part of a Firmware Upgrade Package that is specific for each device.

1. Click N ext to continue. Th e Firmware Upgrade Utility main scr een appears: The Utility inspects your installation. All the devices capable of being upgraded by the packag e are listed in the Device List panel. 2. As you select a de vi ce in the l i st, its de sc ription a ppe a rs i n t he Device Description panel.
3. After you have made your device select i on(s), Click Next to perform the u pgrade. If you enable d Check Firmware Version , the Utility compar es the dev ice’s firmw are level wi t h t ha t of t he upgrade fi l e s.
Upgrade Succeeded After the upgrade ha s com pleted, a sc reen appears to inform you t ha t t he proc edure was successful: Click Finish to close the Firmware Upgrade Utility. After a successful compl e tion, the swi tches exit Firm wa re Upgrade Mode, and reset themselves.
