1 Getting started HOME/FLASH Press to mak e or answer a home call. During a home call, press to answer an incoming call when you hear a call waiting alert Flashes quickly when there is an incoming home call. Flashes slowly when a home call is on hold.
2 Getting started MUTE/DELETE During a call, press to mute the microphone. While predialing, pr ess to delete digits. While reviewing the redial list, direct ory or caller ID history , press to delete an individual entry. 7 Getting started Bat t ery install ation and char ging Install the batt ery as shown below. Step 1 Plug the battery c onnector securely int o the socket inside the handset battery compartment, matching the color-coded label. Insert the supplied battery with the label THIS SIDE UP facing up as indicated.

9 Getting started Bat t ery char ging Once you have inst alled the battery , the screen indicates the battery st atus (see table below). If necessary , place the handset in the telephone base or char ger to charge the bat tery. F or best performance, k eep the handset in the telephone base or charger when not in use.
10 Adding handset to your telephone base Adding and r egist ering handsets Befor e using a new TL90070 handset, you must register it with the AT&T TL91270/TL91370/TL92220/TL92270/TL92320/ TL92370/TL92420/TL92470 telephone system (purchased separatel y).
11 Appendix Expand your t elephone syst em Add and r egister a handset When first purchased, each e xpansion handset shows Pr ess and hold HANDSET L OCA TOR on base for 4 sec, then pr ess # on handset after a bat tery is installed.
12 Appendix R eplace a handset If you want to r eplace a handset or re-assign the designat ed handset number of a regist ered handset, you must der egister all the handsets and then individually r egister each handset. T o make deregistration easier , read all of the instructions on this page befor e you begin.

14 Appendix T r oubleshooting I cannot get a dial tone. First try all the suggestions above. Move the cor dless handset closer to the telephone base. Y ou might have moved out of r ange. If the previous suggestions don’t work, disconnect the telephone base fr om the telephone jack and connect t o a different phone.
15 Appendix T r oubleshooting My cor dless handset isn’t performing normall y . Make sur e the power cord is secur ely plugged into the telephone base. Plug the power adapter int o a different, working electrical outlet not contr olled by a wall switch.
16 Appendix T r oubleshooting Out of range OR No power a t base appears on my cor dless handset. • Ensure that the tel ephone base is powered up. • Place the cor dless handset in the telephone base for one minute to allow the c ordless handset and base to res ynchronize channels.
17 Appendix T r oubleshooting I get noise, sta tic, or a weak signal even when I’m near the tel ephone base. If you subscribe to high-speed Internet servic e (digital subscriber line - DSL) through your t elephone lines, you must install a DSL filt er between the telephone line cor d and the telephone wall jack.
18 Appendix T r oubleshooting I experienc e poor sound quality when using the speak erphone. For incr eased sound quality while using the speakerphone, place the handset on a flat surface with the dial pad facing up. When using a speakerphone, contr olling background noise in your environment is essential.
19 Appendix T r oubleshooting The cordl ess handset may be too far fr om the telephone base. Charge the bat tery in the cor dless handset for at least 16 hours. For optimum dail y performance, r eturn the cordl ess handset to the telephone base or char ger when not in use.
20 Appendix T r oubleshooting My calls cut in and out while I’m using my c ordless handset. Other electronic pr oducts can cause interference with y our cordl ess phone. Try inst alling your phone as far away as possible from el ectronic devices such as wir eless routers, or other cordl ess telephones.
21 Appendix T r oubleshooting The char ge light is off . Make sur e the power and line cords ar e plugged in correctly and securely . Unplug the electrical power . Wait for 15 seconds, then plug it back in. Allow up to one minute f or the cordless handset and telephone base to r eset.
22 Appendix T r oubleshooting I subscribe to a non-tr aditional telephone servic e that uses my comput er to establish c onnections, and my telephone doesn’t work. Make sur e your computer is powered on. Make sur e your Internet connection is working properly .
