13 T r oubleshooting If the previous suggestions do not work, disconnect the telephone base fr om the telephone jack and connect the jack to a differ ent phone. If there is no dial tone on that phone either , the problem is in your wiring or t elephone service.
Appendix 14 T r oubleshooting Out of range OR No power a t base appears on my cor dless handset. Ensure you plug the t elephone base in properly and the power is on. Place the cor dless handset in the telephone base for one minute to allow the c ordless handset and base to synchr onize.
Appendix 15 T r oubleshooting I get noise, sta tic, or weak signals even when I’m near the tel ephone base. If you subscribe to high-speed Internet servic e (DSL - digital subscriber line) through your t elephone line, you must install a DSL filt er between the telephone line cord and the telephone wall jack.
Appendix 16 I experienc e poor sound quality when using the speak erphone. For incr eased sound quality while using the speakerphone, place the handset on a flat surface with the dialing k eys facing up. When using a speakerphone, contr olling backgr ound noise in your environment is essential.
Appendix 17 T r oubleshooting The layout of your home or office ma y be limiting the operating range. T ry moving the telephone base to another location, pref erably on an upper floor . If other phones in your home are having the same pr oblem, contact your t elephone service provider (char ges may apply).
