INST ALLA TION 6 7 The instructions below are for both table and wall installation. 1 Choose a spot near an electrical outlet and a telephone jack. • This phone requires a modular telephone jack and a standard electrical outlet (110v AC).
• Mount the base on the wall by holding the base so that the mounting knobs on the standard wall jack will fit into the keyhole slots on the base. Slide the base bracket down onto the knobs until it locks into place. The cradle will support the handset when the base is on the wall.

ANSWERING SYSTEM SET -UP MEMORY T urning the Answering System On/Off The answering system must be on in order to use any answering system func- tion. If the answering system is on, the Message Counter will be on (a steady or flashing display). To turn the answering system on, press on the base.

ANSWERING SYSTEM OPERA TION: At the Base ANSWERING SYSTEM SET -UP Answering Calls and Recording Messages When the system is ON and the phone begins ringing, the system will answer the call at the number of rings specified in Ring Select. The caller hears the announcement you recorded followed by a single beep.
To make sure you are deleting the right message, you can press to replay the message after listening to it, then press while the message is playing. After the system reaches the end of the last message, any messages that were not deleted are renumbered, and the Message Counter shows the total number of messages remaining.
Accessing the Answering System from a T ouch T one Phone 1 Dial your phone number. * NOTE: Remember that if you set the RING SELECT feature to TOLL SAVER, the system will answer after two rings if there are new messages and after four rings if there are no new messages.
Remote Access Commands Playing all of your messages: Press . The system will play all of your messages and then beep twice to indicate that it is ready to accept a new command.
Recording a Memo From another touch tone phone (or the handset), you can also record a memo for yourself or anyone else who has access to the system. When the system plays messages, it plays the memo along with the other messages on the system.
Call Monitoring As calls come in, the answering system will answer and record messages as long as it is set for automatic answering operation. You can use the cordless handset to listen to the callers as they leave messages. You can begin to speak to a caller directly if you wish by pressing .
BA TTERIES Charging the Handset Battery Pack The batteries need charging when: • The phone beeps four times when you press . • The MUTE/LOW BATT light on the handset is on when the phone is off. The MUTE/LOW BATT light on the handset flashes on and off when the phone is on.
IN CASE OF DIFFICUL TY If you hear noise or interference when using the phone • You may be out of range. Move closer to the base. • Press to change to another of the 25 channels available. If the noise is exceptionally loud, move closer to the base before changing channels.
