Using DeviceManager and WebManager 55 Navigating DeviceManage r/WebManager Navigating DeviceManager/W ebManager The DeviceManager and W ebManager have very similar navigation methods. The left-hand side of the manager is the navigation tree and the center is the configuration area.

66 Serial Port Profiles Parity Specifies the type of parity be ing used for the data communi cation on the serial port. If you want t o force a parity type, you can specify Mark for 1or Space for 0. 75 Serial Port Profiles Adding/Editing Additi onal T ruePort Host s Y ou can define a list of hosts that the serial devi ce will communicate to through T ruePort Lite or a primary/backup host.
76 Serial Port Profiles Adding/Editing a Multihost Entry When you click the Add or Edit button, the Host Entry window appears. The hosts in the multihost list must already be defined. If you add a host that was defined with its fully qualified domain name (FQDN), it must be resolvable by your configu red DNS server .

80 Serial Port Profiles TCP Socket s Profile Overview The TCP Socket profile allows for a serial de vice to communicate over a TCP network. The TCP connection can be initiated from a host on the netw ork and/or a serial device.
81 Serial Port Profiles TCP Port The TCP port th at the IO LAN will use to listen for inco ming connections. Default: 10000 plus the serial port number , so serial port 2 would have a default of 10002 Allow Multiple Hosts to Connect When this option is enabled, mu ltiple host s can connect to the serial device that is connected to this serial port.
82 Serial Port Profiles Adding/Editing Additional Host s Y ou can define a list of hosts that the serial de vice will communicate to or a primary/backup host.
83 Serial Port Profiles Adding/Editing a Multihost Entry When you click the Add or Edit button, the Host Entry window appears. The hosts in the multihost list must already be defined (see Host T able to learn how to create a host).

86 Serial Port Profiles UDP Socket s Profile Overview The UDP profile configures a seri al port to send or receive da ta to/from the LAN using the UDP protocol. Functionality Y ou can use UDP profile in the following two basi c m odes. The first is to send dat a coming from th e serial device to one or more UDP listeners on the LAN.
87 Serial Port Profiles z Both - Allows for data to flow from the serial device to th e LAN and from th e LAN to the serial device. The role of each of the configurable pa rameters in an entry depends on the “ Direction” selected.
88 Serial Port Profiles z Port - Serial data being forwarded to the LAN from th e serial device will sent to this UDP port. Only data originati ng from the UDP p ort configured here (as well as originating from a host in the IP range defined for this entry) will be forwarded to the serial device.

92 Serial Port Profiles Advanced T ab Field Descriptions Configure the following param eters: Connect to Remo te System When the serial port is started, the IOLAN will init iate a connecti on to the specified host using the specified pro tocol. W ith this option, user authentication will not be performe d by the IO LAN.
93 Serial Port Profiles Enable Message of the Day (MOTD) Enables/disables the display of the message of the day . Default: Disabled Reset T erminal on disconnect When enabled, resets the terminal defini tion connected to the serial port when a user logs out.
94 Serial Port Profiles User Service Settings Login Settings These settings apply to users who are ac cessing the netw ork from a term inal connected to the IOLAN’ s serial port. The T elnet settings take eff ect when the connection method is defined in the user ’ s profile.
95 Serial Port Profiles T elnet Settin gs The T elnet settings apply when the User Service is set to Te l n e t or the T erminal profile specifies a Te l n e t connection to a host. Configure the following param eters: T erminal T ype T ype of terminal attached to this se rial port; for exampl e, ANSI or WY SE60.
96 Serial Port Profiles Serial T unneling Profile Overview The Serial T unneling profile allows two IOLANs to be connected back-to-b ack over the network to establish a virtual link between two serial ports based on RFC 2217.

111 Serial Port Profiles UID End When Destination is set to Host and you have sequential Modbus Slave IP addresses (for example, 10.10.10.1, 10.10.10 .2, 10.10.10.3, etc.), you can specify a UID range and the IOLAN will au tomatically increment the last digit of the configured IP addre ss.
