13 With t he OptioWP, no t only can y ou add a voi ce memo to a still p icture, but by s witching to Sy nchro Sound Rec ord mode, th e surrounding sounds are automatic ally captu red until you press the s hutter release button to take the pic ture.
14 The user- friendly design of the OptioWP enabl es easy operat ion with the minimum number of buttons on the camer a body. Simply by choos ing the appropri ate icon, yo u can select Ca pture mode ( 1 p.53) and ch oose the optimal set tings for t he situatio n, or Playback mode ( 1 p.
15 The Opti oWP lets you play back and edit ima ges without ha ving to connec t the c amera to your compu ter and transf er the images first. 28 1 Getting Started Instal ling the SD Memory Card This ca mera uses a n SD Memory Card . Captured imag es and soun d files are saved on th e SD Memory Card if a card is inserted in the camera. They are saved in the bui lt-in memory if a card is no t inserted.

30 1 Getting Started Precautio ns When Using an SD Memory Card • T he SD Memory Card is equipped with a write-protect sw itch. Setting the switch t o LOCK protects the existing data by prohibiting recording of new data, deletion of existing data or form atting of the card.

The num ber of re corded pixels indicates the resol ution of the image. The higher th e number o f recorded pix els, the cl earer the imag e, but the bigger th e file si ze.
