12 Camera Features In addition to b asic picture-taking, the Optio V20 has a variety of shooting modes to suit different situations. This section describes how to make the most of the key features of your camera. Together with the explanations of camera operations, it wil l enable you to enjoy your came ra to the full.
13 The user- friendly d esign of the Optio V20 enables eas y operation with only a f ew buttons. Simply by cho osing the appropriat e icon, you can select the shootin g mode (p.53 ) and ch oose the op timal setti ngs for the situatio n, or the pl ayback mode (p.
14 The Opti o V20 has a vari ety of funct ions to let you enjoy pla ying back an d editing images wi thout having to connect th e camera to your compu ter and transfer the images first. The ca mera is a ll you nee d to take and edit still pictures and mov ies.

23 1 Getting Started Use the ba ttery that is provided with the came ra. Charge the ba ttery before us ing it in the camera fo r the first tim e. 1 Open the battery/card cover. Move the bat tery/card cover l ock lever to the OPEN position 1 and open the ba tter y/card cover 2 .

30 1 Getting Started Precautio ns When Using an SD Memory Card • The SD Memo ry Card is equi pped wi th a write -protec t switch. Setting the switch to LOCK protects the existing data by prohibiting recording of new data, deletion of existing data or formatting of the card.
