Choose a Location for Your Phone F or best reception qualit y , c hoose a location for the base unit of your new telephone: • A wa y from micr o wave ovens • A w a y from TVs, VCRs, stereo equipme.
INSTALLATION Before You Install 1 Choose a location for the base near an electrical outlet and a telephone jack. This phone requires a modular telephone jack and a standard electrical outlet (110v A C) not controlled by a wall switch. 2 Install the handset battery.

3 Charge the handset battery. Place the handset in the base. Char g e the battery for at least 12 hours the first time. 4 Check for dial tone. After the batteries are cha r g ed, pick up the handset and press ; y ou should hear a dial tone. 5 Set the dial mode.

1 0 Operating Range This cordless telephone operates within the maximum po wer allowed b y the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Even so, this handset and base can communicate o v er only a certain distance — which can vary with the locations of the base and handset, the weathe r , and the construction of your home or of fice.

CALLER ID OPERATION About Call Histor y If you subscribe to Caller ID service with your local phone service provider , this phone stores all incoming calls (up to 99 at the handset) with valid Caller ID information in the call log. Name, number , time and date information can all be stored, if they are sent with the call.
Review Call Histor y The screen displays call information for about 15 sec - onds after it has been received. 1 Press (CID) to view call histor y . 2 8 BATTERIES Charge the Handset Battery Pack • This battery should remain char g ed up to six days with the ringer turned on and up to 10 days with the ringer of f . A fully char g ed battery pr ovides an a verag e talk time of about 10 hours. • The battery pack needs char g ing when: — A new battery is installed in the handset.
2 9 Replacing the Handset Battery Pack 1 Remove the battery compartment cover on the handset b y pressing on the indentation and sliding the co ver downward. 2 Lift out the old battery pack and disconnect. 3 Align the two holes in the new battery pack’s plug with the sock et pins,and snap the plug into place.
