C1309M-A (9/08) 7 Setup Before configur ing the camera settings or ins talling the unit , you must remove the camera asse mbly from the encl osure to set up the ba sic wiring configuratio ns (refer to Bench Setup on page 9). The camera can either be configured on a bench using a PC in a lab environment, or using a lap top in the field.

C1309M-A (9/08) 9 BENCH SETUP DISASSEMBLE THE ENCLOSURE 1. Use the supplied 1/8-inch he x wrench to loosen the two captive hex scr ews on the enclosure’ s back plate. 2. Pull the “T” handle on the enclos ure’ s back plate to remove the enclosure sled.
10 C1309M-A (9/08) CONNECT WIRING 1. Pull the shielded power ca ble through the gland on the left side of the enclosure’ s back plate. NOTES: • To prevent the e ntrance of dust or water, proper cabling (not supplied) must be used when wiring the enclosure.
C1309M-A (9/08) 11 4. Connect the input pow er wiring for either 24 VDC or 24 V AC to the screw terminals for pins 6 and 7 on the detachable con necto r (refer to Figure 5).
12 C1309M-A (9/08) INTERFACING WITH A PC 1. Attach the end of the ser ial cable that is not connected to the camera’ s detachable connector to your PC’ s serial port. 2. Procee d to Configuration on page 15; follow all steps i n the Configur ation section before completing th e bench setup using t he remaining steps in this section.

14 C1309M-A (9/08) REASSEMBLE THE ENCLOSURE 1. Place t he supplied desiccant bag at the back of the enclosure . 2. Make sure that the lubr icated O-rings o n the front and re ar covers of the enclosure a re free of dirt and d ebris. 3. Reinstall the camera assembly .
C1309M-A (9/08) 15 Configuration The camera se tup must be complete b efore the camera can be configured (refer to Setup on page 7). T o open th e TI25 GUI configur ation software, on your PC go to Start >Programs>Pelco>TI25 GUI.
16 C1309M-A (9/08) Perform Manual FFC Occasionall y , image qu ality may degrade . When this happ ens, perform a man ual FFC. After manua lly performing this process , the c amera restarts the frequency clock and re sets the baseline temperat ure. T o manually perform the FFC: 1.

18 C1309M-A (9/08) CHANGING THE POLARITY/LUT SETTING The Polarit y/LUT setting programs th e specific pa lette of co lors to rep resent the t emperature s in the the rmal image. These colo rs are not calibrated to a specif ic temperature. Rather , they represent the tempe rature variations within t he thermal image.
C1309M-A (9/08) 19 Pan When the “Zoom 2x” check bo x is selected, you can move th e zoomed array region within the full-array area; this digitally simu l ates panning an d tilting. Pan ning and ti lting are de fined as movi ng the camer a image in t he horizont al and vert ical axes, res pectively.
20 C1309M-A (9/08) AGC T AB The defaul t setting s on the au tomatic ga in control (A GC) tab offe r the best image quali ty for most s cenes. Y ou can make AG C adj ust ments to configure th e camera to p roduce no i mage or an all black i mage.

C1309M-A (9/08) 25 Maintenance CLEANING THE LENS 1. Saturate a piece of optical-grade tissue with deionized water an d drape it over the le ns. 2. Let the surface tension of the water pull the tissue onto the surface of the len s, and then drag the tissue acro ss the lens.
