6 The network camera WV -SW458/WV -SW458M is designed to operate using a PC on a network (10BASE-T/100BASE-TX), and can be installed under eaves (sheltered outdoor). By connecting to a network (LAN) or the Internet, images and audio from the camera can be moni- tored on a PC via a network.
7 About the user manuals There ar e 2 sets of operating instructions for the WV-SW458, WV -SW458M (P model), WV -SW458E, WV -SW458ME (E model) as follows.

10 Pr ecautions Refer installation work to the dealer . Installation work requir es technique and experi- ences. 12 Code label The code labels (accessory) are r equired at inquiry for trouble. Use caution not to lose these labels. It is recommended to paste one of the labels onto the CD-ROM case.
13 Pr ecautions for installation This product is designed to be installed under eaves. Install the product under eaves to avoid dir ect sunlight. Installing place Contact your dealer for assistance if you are unsure of an appr opriate place in your particu- lar environment.
14 Procur e fixing screws separately . The screws that secur e this product are not supplied. Prepar e them according to the mate- rial and strength of the ar ea where the product is to be installed. Do not remove or loosen the scr ews on the rear of this pr oduct.

16 About the [INITIAL SET] button After turning off the power of the camera, turn on the power of the camera while holding down this button, and wait for about 5 seconds or more without r eleasing the button. Wait about 2 minutes after releasing the button.

18 Using the side cable access hole SW458M When installing the camera directly on the ceiling or wall with cables exposed, cut out a portion of the enclosure to open a cable access hole.
19 Note: • Thedirectionof“ g TOP” on the camera attachment (accessory) determines the upwards dir ec- tion of the image on the PC monitor .
20 Using the mount bracket (accessory) SW458 Note: • Whenthecamera ismountedontheceiling orwallwitha holeforcablerunning, orthecamera is mounted using open wiring, the mount bracket (accessory) is used.
21 x Determine the direction of the mount bracket accor ding to the installation environment (how the cables are wir ed, etc.) before mounting it to a ceiling or a wall by fixing 4 screws (locally pro- cured). The direction of the camera in r elation to the mount bracket is the 4 directions as shown in the illustration.
22 <Using a conduit> Align the direction of the conduit to the dir ection of the female thread for the conduit on the mount bracket, and mount the mount bracket to hole A or hole B on the ceiling or wall. [For use of the hole A ] Note: • Onlythesametypeofholes, A or B , shall be used for mounting.
