8 VivoPC VM40B Features F ront panel T op cover The remov able top cov er allows you ac cess to the hard disk drive and the memory modules. IMPORT ANT! Befor e removing the t op cover , turn o your VivoPC and unplug the pow er cable.
VivoPC VM40B 9 Left side Air ven ts The air vents on the left side allow cooler air t o enter your Viv oPC chassis. IMPORT ANT : For optimum heat dissipa tion and air ventilation, ensur e that the air vents ar e free from obstructions.
10 VivoPC VM40B P ower butt on The power butt on allows you t o turn the Viv oPC on or o . Y ou can also press the pow er button once to put y our Viv oPC to sleep mode. Memory c ard slot The built-in memory card reader enables your PC to r ead and write data to and from MMC/SD car ds.
VivoPC VM40B 11 VGA Output The 15-pin VGA por t suppor ts a standard VGA- compatible device such as a monitor or projector to allo w viewing on a larger external display . LAN por t The eight-pin RJ-45 LAN port suppor ts a standard Ethernet cable for connection to a local network.

IMPORT ANT : For optimum heat dissipa tion and air ventilation, keep the air v ents at least 10cm awa y from any obstructions. P ower input (DC 19V) The supplied power adapt er conv erts AC power to DC power f or use with this jack.

14 VivoPC VM40B Getting started C onnect the AC pow er adapter to your V ivoPC T o connect the AC pow er adapter to your V ivoPC: A. Connect the AC power cord to the AC/DC adapter. B. Plug the AC power cord into a 100V~240V power source. C. Connect the DC power connector into your VivoPC’s power (DC) input port.

Y ou can also connect a USB dongle for a wir eless keyboard and mouse set. T o connect a keyboard and mouse to y our VivoPC: Connect the USB cable from your keyboar d and mouse to any of the USB 2.

Turning your VivoPC off If your VivoPC is unresponsiv e, pr ess and hold the power button f or at least four (4) sec onds until your VivoPC turns o .
Quickly enter the BIOS T o quickly enter the BIOS: • P ress the pow er button for at least f our (4) seconds to shut down your VivoPC, then pr ess the power butt on again to turn your Viv oPC back on, then press <F2> or <Del> during POST .

22 VivoPC VM40B Upgrading memory modules Your VivoPC comes with two SO-DIMM memory slots that allows you to install two 2 GB, 4 GB, or 8GB unbuered with non-ECC DDR3 204-pin SO-DIMMs for a maximum of 16 GB memory. IMPORT ANT! Y ou can only install DDR3 SO -DIMM to the VivoPC’ s DIMM slots.

Release the screw that secures the SO-DIMM slot cov er , then pr y the slot cov er open. 10. Align and insert the memor y module into the slot (A) and pr ess it down (B), until it is securely sea ted in place .
26 VivoPC VM40B 11. Replace the SO-DIMM slot cover and secure it with the scr ew . Memory 3.5” HD 2.5” HD 12. F or HDD , match the rubber heads of the black screws with the four scr ew slots on the drive bay . For SSD , match the rubber heads of the black screws with the three screw slots on the driv e bay .
