3 GettinG st ar ted Location Y ouneedtoplaceyourBT9500basewithin2metresofthemains power socket and telephone socket so that the cables will reach. Make sure it is at least 1 metre away from other electrical appliancestoavoidinterference.
4 Install and Charge the Batteries 1) Slidethebatterycompartmentcoveroffthebackofthe handset. 2) Insert the rechargeable battery pack as sho wn with the battery plugged into the small socket in the battery compartment.
5 • Avoidcontactwithmetalobjectswhenhandlingthebattery. Theseobjects could short out the batteries or cause the conductor to overheat resulting in burns. • Donotattempttorechargethebatterycellbyhea tingit.

10 On when you have a new Voice Mail message. (This is a caller display service and is not usually available from UK network providers.) On when viewing a new call entry in the call log. On steadily when Bluetooth device #1 or #2 is connected with the telephone base.
11 - - Flashing - -: the Time/date is not set and there are no new voice messages recorded. XX Steady ON: Playing the current XX incoming message. A1/A2 Steady ON: Playing the current outgoing message (OGM) where A1 is the Answer & Record OGM and A2 is the Answer Only OGM.
12 Introducing Bluetooth wireless technology Y ournewtelephonesystemwith Bluetooth wireless technology has the following features: • Uptotwo Bluetooth devicescanbepairedwiththetelephone base, and they can be two Bluetooth enabled mobile phones or one mobile phone plus one headset.
13 • Makesurethatyour Bluetooth enabled mobile phone has sufcientsignalstrength. Y oumayneedtomovethe Bluetooth enabled mobile phone and telephone base to a location where the mobile signal may be stronger .
14 NOTE Only Bluetooth headsets with password 0000 can be paired with the telephone base system. When a device is successfully connected, the Bluetooth LED for the button selected will be turned on, and the Bluetooth status icon will display on the handset screen.
15 NOTE If the connection between the paired device and the telephone base does not resume by manually connecting the device on the paired device list, you will need to unpair or de-register the device from the Bluetooth enabled mobile phone.
16 Calls Make a HOME call • Press T ALK/RorSPEAKER, andthenenterthetelephone number . Predial a call • Enterthetelephonenumber .PressMUTE/CLEARor T ALKOFF/ BACKtomakecorrectionswhenenteringthephonenumber .
17 NOTES 1. Some Bluetooth enabled mobile phones may have a default setting that disablesthefeatureofmakingacallthroughtheBluetoothconnection. MakesurethissettingisenabledbeforemakingaMOBILEcall.
18 Volume control PressUP/DOWNtoadjustthelisteningvolumewhenonacall. Eachpressofthebuttonincreasesordecreasesthevolumelevel by one step. NOTES 1. Allvolumesettings(handsetandspeakerphone)areindependent.
19 Chain dialing Thisfeatureallowsyoutoinitiateadialingsequencefromnumbers stored in the phonebook, caller ID history or redial list while you are on a call.
20 Intercom Ifyouhavemorethanonehandsetregisteredtoyourbase,usethe intercomfeatureforconversationsbetweenhandsets. Call another handset 1. From idle mode, press the intercom button INT , (or press MENU/OK, thenUP/DOWNtoINTERCOMandpressMENU/OKto select.
21 2. T oanswerthecallontheotherhandset,press T ALK/Ror SPEAKER. Theoutsidecallisstillonholdandbothhandsets nowshowINTERCOM,andyoucanhaveaprivateconversation with the other handset.
22 PHONEBOOK The phonebook can store up to 100 entries with up to 30 digits for each phone number and 15 characters for each name. • Phonebookentriesaresharedbyallsystemhandsets. Any additions, deletions or edits made on one handset affect the phonebook on all handsets.
23 Alphabetical search T o start an alphabetical search: 1. PressPHONEBOOKwhenthehandsetisnotinuse. 2. Use the dialling keys to enter the letters associated with the name.
24 CALLER ID ThisfeatureisavailableifyouhavesubscribedtotheCallerID Identicationservicewithyournetworkser viceprovider . Caller ID lets you see the phone number of your callers on the handset display , before you answer a call and in your call log afterwards.
25 4. PressUP/DOWNtobrowsethroughthecalllog. • Thename(ifavailable),telephonenumber , dateandtimeof each incoming call is shown on the screen, along with the HOME or MOBILE icon to indicate the source of the caller id.
26 REDIAL LIST Thetelephonestoresthevemostrecentlydiallednumbers. • Whentherearealreadyveentries,theoldestentryisdeleted to make room for the new entry . • Entriesareshowninreversechronologicalorder .
27 PERSONAL SETTINGS Using the feature menu, you can customise many of the telephone’ s settings. 1. PressMENU/OKwheninidlemode(whenthephoneisnotin use) to enter the feature menu. 2. UseUP/DOWNtoscrolltothefeaturetobechanged.
28 T o Change Settings Ringer volume Y oucansettheringervolumelevel(1-6),orturntheringeroff. Whenturnedoff, the<RINGEROFF>iconappearsonthehandset screen. 1. PressMENU/OKwheninidlemodetoenterthemenulist.
29 Set the Recall time Y oumayneedtochangetherecall(ash)timeifyourphoneis connected to a PBX. The recall time options are SHOR T(100ms), MEDIUM(300ms) or LONG(600ms). 1. PressMENU/OKwheninidlemodetoenterthemenulist.
30 Reset Y our Phone Y oucanresetyourphonetothedefaultsettings. Aresetreturns all your personal settings to their defaults, except for the system PIN, and clears your redial list, call log and answering machine messages, but keeps your phonebook entries.
31 REGISTRA TION IMPORT ANT : When you purchase your phone all handsets are already registered to the base, so you do not need to register them. Handset registration is only necessary when you buy extra handsets or if a handset becomes faulty . Y ournewtelephonesystemcanaccommodateupto6handsets.
32 USING YOUR ANSWERING MACHINE The answering machine records unanswered calls when it is activated.Itcanstoreupto99messageswithinthemaximum recording time of 14 minutes. T urn on or off the answering machine The answering system must be turned on to answer and record messages.
33 T o play messages with the telephone base: 1. PressPlay/Stop. 2. During message playback, press below keys to perform the following functions: • Play/Stop: Presstostopplayingmessagesorresumeplayback. • SkipBackward: Pressoncetoreplaycurrentmessagefromthe beginning.
