INSTALLATIO N 9 Changing the Remote Code The remote control supports one of three remote codes. The default is “Code 1”. If you have other OPPO products placed close to the BDP-93, they may inadvertently respond to the BDP-93 re mote control. In this case you can select a different remote code to avoid conflicts.

Connecting to an y other ports or jacks, such as a phone jack, can damage the player. • Streaming services s uch as Netflix and Blockbuster may require membership and may also be limited to service in the US only.

INSTALLA TION 22 Setting Up the Player - Easy Setup W izar d Access the Easy Setup Wizard When the player is turned on for the first time, an Easy Setup Wizard screen will appear. It is a series of guided instru ctions designed to configure the basic se ttings for the pl ayer.

The player will apply the selected output resolution and ask you to confirm the selection. If your TV supports the sele cted resol ution, you will see a dialog box with a count-down clock.

BASIC O PERATIONS 30 In addition to the playback time, the on- screen display may also contain the following infor mation about the conten t currently playing: • Playback status: an icon indicating play, pause, an d fast forward/reverse status. • Bit rate meter: an indicat ion of the bit rate of the audio and v ideo stream.
BASIC OPERATIONS 31 NOTE Availability of languages and audio channels varies by disc. Some DVD-Audio discs allow audio track selec tion wi th the AUDIO button, w hile others require th e user t o select from the audio setup menu of the disc.

33 AD V ANCED OPERA TIONS TV System Selection P/N While you may want to set the video output system (NTSC/PAL) to the same as that supported by yo ur TV, realize that the OPP O Blu-ray Disc Player will convert any content that is not in the correct fo rmat your TV understands.

MEDIA FILE PLAYBACK 43 T he H ome Menu When a USB/e-SATA drive or an optical disc stored with media files is inserted, the player presents a “Home Menu” to assist you in navigating and pla ying the files. You can also bring up the Home Menu with the HOME button on the remote con trol.
MEDIA FILE PLAYBACK 44 Playing Music Files To play digit al music files stored on an optic al disc, USB or e-SATA drive, select “Music” from the Home Menu. A file browser will appear to assist you in navigating the files and folders. The first step is to sele ct the “Data Disc”, USB or e-SATA device that contains the music files.

47 SETUP MENU OPTIONS The Setup Menu of the OPPO Blu-ray Disc Player presents man y setup and configuration options. For most users, the default configuration w ill be sufficie nt and will not require any changes t o the settings.

SETUP MEN U OPTIONS 65 Multi-Channel Analog Audio to Receiver If the player is connected to an A/V receiver through the 7.1ch or 5.1ch analog audio jacks using 8 or 6 RCA cables (as described in “Method 5” on page 15), you can play all supported audio formats and listen to them with your A/V receiver and surround sound systems.
SETUP MENU OPT IONS 66 Audio Processing Setup The “Audio Processing Setup” section of the Setup Menu system allows you to configure how the player will process audio signals before sending them to the output.
SETUP MEN U OPTIONS 67 Speaker Configuration applies to the multi-chann el analog audio ou tputs only. All digital bitstream and LPCM ou tputs are una ffected by these sett ings. Down Mix Mode Down mix is the process of converting multi-chan nel audio to a lesser number of channels.
