Depending on the connectors that your television has, connect either the component jacks, the S-video jack, or the composite jack.

19 Connecting to the Onky o Separate Collection Series components If you’ re using the D V -S155X together with a PR-155X or an Onk yo separate collection series, connecting the cable and audio connection cable will allow you to perform the follo wing system functions.

25 D VD pla yback (Basic pla ybac k) —Continued Stopping pla yback Press the b utton. This activ ates the “Resume” function. When you press the button, playback will resume from the point where the disc stopped. If you press the button once again, the disc will stop.
26 D VD pla yback (Basic pla ybac k) —Continued About the disc menu Many D VDs provide a menu that lets you choose the language of the soundtrack or sub- titles, to select titles or chapters, or to view special disc features.

67 Adv anced setup —Continued • Digital output This specifies whether digital audio will be output from the D V -S155X’ s digital output jack. On: The digital jack will output digital audio signals. Off: The digital jack will not output digital audio signals.
68 Adv anced setup —Continued Language settings Some D VDs contain subtitles or soundtracks in more than one language, allowing you to choose the desired language. Here’ s ho w to make language-related settings. For the procedure of using the setup menu, refer to page 62.

72 Adv anced setup —Continued Operation Setting Here you can make settings for v arious functions of the D V -S155X. ■ P ause/Still This setting specifies how the image will be frozen when you pause playback. The “Frame” set- ting generally provides higher quality , but may be blurry in some cases.
73 Adv anced setup —Continued ■ PBC This setting enables menu playback for video CDs with PBC. Off: PBC playback is disabled. On (Default setting): PBC playback is enabled. (Default setting) Tip • PBC playback functionality differs between discs; please refer to the packaging of the disc.
74 About Discs The D V -S155X can only play back discs with the following marks on the disc labels, pack- aging, or jackets. *1 About playing copy-controlled CDs Some copy-controlled CDs may not con- form to official CD standards. They are special discs and may not play on the DV -S155X.
75 About Discs —Continued The controls on certain D VD discs may be prohibited or disabled. The D V -S155X will display an icon ( ) that means a function is “prohibited by the disc” if you try to ex ecute such a function.
76 About Discs —Continued The D V -S155X can play back CD-R/CD-R W discs containing music CD data, music data in formats such as MP3, and image data in formats such as JPEG. Howe ver depending on the disc, you may occasionally experience problems such as inability to play back, audi- ble noise, or distorted sound.
77 About Discs —Continued D VDs All discs are divided into smaller , more man- ageable sections so that you can find specific content more easily . More specifically , discs are divided into one or more titles. Each title may be further divided into se veral chapters.
78 About Discs —Continued • Do not touch the playback side of a disc. • Do not attach paper or tape to discs. • Fingerprints and dust on a disc can cause picture and sound deterioration. Wipe the disc from the center outwards with a soft cloth.
79 Tr oubleshooting Please check the following points first. It is possible that the cause may lie with other connected equipment, so refer to the Instruction Manual of your other equipment as well. The numbers shown at the end of a line indicate pages for reference.
