19 Connecting the A V receiver —Continued Speaker Config uration For 7.1-channel surround-s ound playback, you need se ven speakers and a po wered subwoofer . The following table shows which channels you should use based on the number of speakers you ha ve.

21 Connecting the A V receiver —Continued The speakers can easily be w all mounted by using the keyhole slots. T o mount the front or surround speakers vertically , use the keyhole slot sho wn to hang each speaker on a screw that’ s securely scre wed into the wall.

47 Basic Operations —Continued The Music Optimizer function enhances the sound quality of compressed music f iles. Use it with music f iles that use “lossy” compression, su ch as MP3. Note: The Music Optimizer function only works with PCM digital audio input signals with a sampling rate belo w 48 kHz and analog audio input signals.
48 Listening to the Radio For AM/FM tuning to work properly , you must specify the AM/FM frequenc y step used in your area. Note that when this setting is cha nged, all radi o presets are deleted. 85 T r oubleshooting —Continued The subwoofer produces no sound • The subwoofer outputs no sound while only speaker set B is on. T urn on speaker set A. • If the source material c ontains no audio in the LFE channel, the subw oofer produces no sound.
86 T r oubleshooting —Continued • Make sure that the A V receiver is not subjected to direct sunshine or in vert er-type fluorescent lights. Relocate if necessary . • If the A V rece iv e r is instal led in a rack or cabinet with colored-glass doors , the remote controller may not work reliably when the doors are closed.
