Installing t he software Install t he software containing the printer driver fo r Windows 95/98 i n the supplied CD-ROM. Connect th e printer to th e computer. S e e the operating instructions o f the Digital Color Printer. Turn o n t he printer and the computer.
Notes • Wh en th e d i a lo g prompting you to insert the Windows CD - R O M or floppy d is k appears during installation, insert the specified CD - RO M or floppy d is k an d click [OK]. If th e Windows Setup starts after t he W indows CD- ROM is inserted, finish the S et up program.
Uninstalling the software When t he driver software becomes unnecessary, remove a ll th e software files f ro m your hard disk a s follows: Click the Windows [Start] button, click [Settings], and click [Printers]. Th e [Printers] di alo g appears. Click to select [OLYMPUS P-330].
Printing Tip When y ou print in 3 0 6 dpi in th e application software, se t the picture size up to 1376 x 10 24 pixels. Note If th e message "This printer is not supported by the driver currently associated wi t h it. Windows will use O LY MP US P-330 instead.
Click [ OK] to close t h e [Print Setup] dialog. Click [Print] from t h e [File] m e n u of th e application. Th e [Print] dialog appears. Se t [Copies]. Y o u ca n set u p to 30 copies. Y ou c an print continuously using t he supplied automatic feeder.
Click [O K] . T he next dialog appears. 7 F o r further settings an d operations You c an ma k e split printing (page 1 4 ) , adjust resolution (page 1 2 ) or picture quality (page 13). Notes on the hi gh speed print mode • Da t a transmission speed depends o n t h e computer.
Click the "Document Name" waiting to be printed. Click [Document] in t he men u and then click [Cancel Printing]. Refer to t he manual o f t he Windows 95/98 fo r details. 4 5 Hints f o r better printout To obtain better print result, read the application software manual carefully.
Setting the resolution You can se t the resolution depending o n the image you print. Start the application software u s e d to print, an d click [ Pr in t er Setup] f r o m t he [File] m e nu . The [Print Setup] dialog appears. S e t [Printer] to [O LY MP US P-330], click [Properties] and th en click [Graphics].
Adjusting the picture quality Y o u c a n adjust th e picture quality o f the p ri n ts . Click [Print] fr o m t h e [File] m e n u o f th e app l i c a t i o n , and i n th e [Print] dialog click [OK]. T h e [OLYMPUS P - 33 0 ] dialog appears. Ad j u s t the picture.
Making t he split print To mak e the split print correctly If the application i s to print according to t he printer's resolution, set th e i mag e size as fo llow s: • 6 8 8 x 5 1 2 p ix el s i n 1 5 3 dpi • 1376 x 1024 pixels in 306 dpi S e e t he application's manual for setting th e im ag e size.
Making multiple prints a t h i g h speed T o print multiple copies a t high speed or w i t h l im i te d h ar d disk space, check [Print directly to the printer] i n t h e [Spool Settings] window before you start printing. Click [Start]. Point to [Settings] an d click [Printers].

Install the software containing the printer driver for the Windows 3 . 1 in the supplied CD-ROM. Installing the software Connect th e printer to the computer. S e e the operating instructions o f t he Digital Color Printer. Turn o n the printer and t he computer.
Click [Install]. 6 Insert the supplied CD- RO M . Input "D:EnglishWin31" and click [OK]. Input your CD-ROM drive fo r "D." Y o u ca n also select f r o m [Browse]. 7 8 Make sure that "OLYMPUS P-330" i s selected a nd click [OK].
Ma ke s u re t h a t "OLYMPUS P-330 o n LPT1:" is added in the [Installed Printers:] b ox an d click [Connect]. S e t [Transmission Retry] to "300," check "Fast Printing Direct to Port," and click [OK]. Click [Close]. Installation finishes.
Uninstalling the software Wh e n t h e driv er software becomes unnecessary, remove all the software files from your hard d is k as follows: Double-click the [Control Panel] icon in t he [Main] window. Double-click the [Printers] icon in t he [Control Panel] window.
Printing Tip Whe n you print i n 3 0 6 dpi in t he application software, s e t the picture size to 1376 x 1 024 pixels. Start the application software used to print, and select th e image to be printed. Click [Print] from t h e [ F ile] me nu of th e application.
Click [OK]. The [Print] dialog appears. Set [Copies]. Yo u can set u p t o 3 0 copies. Yo u can print continuously using the supplied automatic feeder. 5 6 Click [OK]. Th e next dialog appears. 7 Tip Yo u ca n make split prints (page 27), se t resolution (page 25) or adjust th e picture quality (page 26) .
Note I f the printing of the data has already started, don't tr y to cancel printing. Doing so wil l cause t he paper to j am. Stopping printing When a "printing" message is on the screen Click the [Stop] button or the [Cancel] button. T h e printing is canceled.

Adjusting the picture quality Yo u c an adjust t he picture quality o f the prints. Click [Print] fr o m the [File] me nu of th e application, and in the [Print] dialog click [OK].
You c an make a 2 - , 4 - , 9 - , o r 16-split print with an image inset in each split-plane. Click [Print] from t h e [File] menu of the application, and in the [Pri nt] dialog click [OK]. The [OLYMPUS P-330] dialog appears. Select t h e desired number of images per sheet i n [Split].
Making multiple prints a t h ig h speed T o print multiple copies at high speed or wi t h limited h ar d disk space, uncheck [U s e Print Manager] in the [Printers] dialog before you start printing. Double-click [Control Panel] in the [Main] window, and then double-click [Printers] to open the [Printers] dialog.
System requirements Your computer and system software must meet the following minimum requirements to ru n th e printer driver. • A n Apple Macintosh compatible computer with a 68030 processor or later a nd s erial port model Supporting Apple system software version 7 .
Installing the software Install t h e software containing the printer driver f o r th e Macintosh in t he supplied CD -R O M . 1 2 3 4 Connect the printer to the computer. S e e th e operating instructions of the Digital Color Printer. Tu rn on the printer a nd the computer.
Click [Install]. Installation starts up . 6 Wh e n th e software is installed successfully, the ne x t screen appears. Click [OK]. 7 Fo r Macintosh 31.
Printing S e t [Chooser]. Select [Chooser] from t h e [Apple] menu. The [Chooser] wi nd ow is displayed. 1 Click the [P-330] icon in the l e ft box. Select t he i co n in t h e right box according to the p or t y o u connected the printer. Select [ON] o r [OFF] f o r t h e [Background Print].
Notes • Us e the se t of the print paper an d i n k ribbon cartridge supplied together in the sa me carton. Als o make sure t o s et [Size] in t he combination shown in the table. If you use them in different combination, proper printing results ma y no t be obtained or other trouble ma y occur.
Display t h e [Print] dialog in the [File] me nu f r o m the application and s et t he pages a nd quantity fo r printing. 5 Th e dialog differs depending on the application software. Cl i ck [OK]. Th e printer st ar ts printing. T o adjust t h e picture quality, s e e page 3 6 .
Stopping printing Wh en a "printing" message is on the screen Click the [Stop] button or the [Cancel] button. O r you m ay press t he period ( .) k ey while holding t he command ( ) ke y down. Th e printing i s canceled. Wh en using the Print Monitor Click th e [Cancel] button to cancel printing.
Adjusting the picture quality Adjusting the picture quality ma y result in better printout depending on i mages. Adjust the picture quality as described below. Display the [Print] dialog in t he [File] m en u from th e application software. 1 2 Clic k [Option].
Note If th e application software has t h e same adjustment item as the driver software, do the adjustment o n th e application software, n ot o n the driver software. I f you adjust the same ite m on both th e application software and the driver software, the image ma y be printed with unexpected result.
Making t he split print Tips • To preview t he printed image, s ee page 3 9. • Y ou ca n set [Split] also on the [Preview] screen (page 39) . Note Th e 16-split images printed on the 16-cut sticker a re partly cut off d ue to t he size o f t he sticker.
Y o u ca n also set [Split] a n d adjust color balance on th is screen. Click [Preview]. Th e preview screen appears. Previewing function l et s y ou confirm on the monitor screen how t he printed imag e will appear before printing. Display th e [Print] dialog in th e [File] m e n u from th e application software.
Ch ec k t ha t the image i s placed within t he print paper, an d click [Print this page] or [Print this page onward]. T he printer starts printing. If you click [Pr int thi s p age onward], the prin ter prints from the current p age through the l a s t page.
Troubleshooting Us e the following measures to solve pr ob lems y ou experience with your printer. If the problem persists, contact your dealer fo r information on what to do next. The printer prints the image split into pieces. • T he resolution o f the image is incorrectly set or the size of t he image i s too large.
• The printer m ay b e malfunctioning. Ch ec k the indicators of the printer o r the error messages of t he computer. If printer does not start printing in 5 minutes after print paper is installed when there i s nothing wrong with the print er or computer, turn of f t h e pr int er an d turn i t o n again.

Introduction Thank you f o r purchasing this OLYMPUS digital color printer. Read this manual and warranty f or future reference and us e them when requesting service. Make sure tha t the d ate of purchase and dealer's name are included on your warranty.
WARNING If anything strange occurs with the printer, unplug t he power cord. If the printer emits smoke, strange smells, or strange sounds, tu r n o ff an d unplug the printer to prevent fire or ele c tr i c shock. Then contact Olympus. Should a n y liquid o r foreign obj e c t penetrate the printer, unplug the power cord.
D o no t disassemble or modify the printer. T h e printer h as bo th hot and high voltage parts o n the inside. To prevent an electric shock o r printer malfunction, do not attempt to disassemble or m odify t he pr i n te r. Fo r service o r repair, contact Olympus.
WARNING Mak e sure that excessive du s t and foreign matter do not accumulate o n t he power cord. Dust and foreign matter conduct electricity, which can cause fi r e and electric shock. If excessive d us t and foreign matter accumulate o n the cord, unplug t he cord and remove them.
D o n o t block the v ent. Doing so m ay cause the printer to hea t up, possibly resulting in fire o r electric shock. • Do not block the top or s id e vent.
Unplug t h e power cord from th e power outlet before cleaning the printer. Accidentally touching a non-user-serviceable p a rt m a y cause electric shock. Unplug th e p rin ter if i t is not used f o r an e x t ended period of time, fo r example while yo u a r e on a long trip.

Inserting the print paper Yo u can u se the print papers mentioned in "Optional supp lies (pr int packs)" on p age 3 4 . First insert the print paper into the supplied automatic feeder, and then install the automatic feeder to the printer. You ma y insert the print paper d i rectly into the printer.
• Yo u cannot type on th e printing surface; u se a n o il i nk p en to w rite greetings or other characters or drawings on the printing surface. • Th e automatic feeder ca n hold u p to 3 0 sheets o f standard paper or sticker paper.

Printing a n image recorded by OLYMPUS Digital Cameras You can directly print the image recorded by OLYMPUS Digital Cameras. Printing operation differs depending on the model as described below. Printing a n image from t h e computer To pr in t an image f r o m the computer, first install th e supplied printer driver to your computer. T o make th e connection, also refer t o t h e computer's manual. Connecting t o an I BM PC/AT and its compatible Us e the supplied cable.
Connecting to a Macintosh and it s compatible Use t he supplied cable(Mini DIN 8-pin/Mini DIN 8-pin). For Macintosh: If y our computer does not ma t ch th e plug Use a commercialy available cable having a Mini DIN 8-pin plug to connect t he p rinte r an d a matching plu g to connect the computer.
Printing while directly inserting print paper S en d the print command from t he c omputer or digital still camera. Th e PAPER indicator ( ) i s on , and then the READY indicator starts flashing. 1 Insert a sheet of print paper in to the paper inlet until le ss than 13/16 inches ( 2 c m) of th e print paper i s l e f t out o f the paper inlet.
Troubleshooting Us e the following measures to solve problems you may experience with y ou r printer. I f th e problem persists, contact you r dealer f o r in for ma ti on on what to do next. • Th e power i s not turned on. Connect the AC power cord to an AC outlet securely.
Troubleshooting (continued) I f the indicators ar e o n If you cannot print, check the ind icator s on th e front panel. • Th e RIBBON indicator is on . Th e ink ribbon cartridge is not loaded. Th e ink ribbon has r un out. Change the ink ribbon cartridge.
• The READY indicator doe s not light or all indicators are flashing. Print paper is jammed. Remove t he j am med paper from t h e paper outlets o n t he front a n d rear panels. Remove the automatic feeder f ro m the printer and s e e if th e paper jammed.
Troubleshooting (continued) Notes • If the READY indicator d o es n ot turn o n after having removed th e jammed paper, turn th e power of f and on again. Try printing from t he camera or computer again. • If yo u cannot remove th e jammed paper, contact Olympus.
