39 Shooting Features • When you point the camera at a dog or cat, the ca mera detects the pet’s face and focuses on it. Set Photo VR to Off in the setup menu ( A 77 ) when using a tripod to sta bilize the camera during shooting.

63 Shooting Features Using Target Finding AF When AF area mode ( A 56) in A (auto) mode is s et to Target finding AF , the camera focuses in th e manner de scribed bel ow when you p ress the shutt er-relea se button halfway. • The came ra detects th e main subject and focuses on it.
64 Shooting Features Subjects Not Suitabl e for Autofocus The camera ma y not focus as expec ted in the followin g situations. In some rare cases, the subject may not be in focus despite the fact that.
