Its gray scale CCD image capturer and the Newland patented UIMG, a Computerized Image Recognition System, ensure the fast scanning and decoding accuracy on different barcode media such as paper , plastic card, and metal surface.

Figure 5 below shows the socket. For reference purpose, the EM1300 Evaluation Kit uses a connector to connect the fl ex cable.
