After setting up the T rek the first time, if you want to perform this task again, you can run Setup Wizard from the ADV ANCED tab of the genie.
genie ADV ANCED Home 49 T r ek N300 T r avel Rout er and Range Ex tender PR2000 7. If you selected the Ye s button, click the Next button. The Setup Wizard searches your Internet connection for servers and protocols to determine your ISP configuration.

If you want the T rek to respond to a ping from the Internet, select this check box. By default, this check box is cleared. When one network device communicates across the Internet with another , the data packets travel through many devices along the way .

Combined with the IP address, the IP subnet mask allows a device to know which other addresses are local to it, and which must be reached through a gateway or router .

87 6 6. Securit y K eep unwant ed cont ent out of your network This chapter explains how to use the basic firewall features of the T rek to prevent objectionable content from reaching the computers and other devices connected to your network.
