Chapter 2 37 BIOS Flash Utilities The BIOS flash memory upd ate is required for th e following condition s: • New versions of system programs • New features or options • Restore a BIOS when it becomes corrupted. Use the Phlash util ity to update the system BIOS flash ROM.
38 Chapter 2 DOS Flash Utility Perform the following steps to use the DOS Flash Utility: 1. Press F2 during boot to enter the Setup Menu. 2. Select Boot Menu to modify the boot priority order , for example, if using USB HDD to Update BIOS, move USB HDD to position 1.

48 Chapter 3 Pre-disassembly Instructions Before proceeding with the disassembly procedure, make su re that you do the following: 1. T urn off the power to the system and all peripherals. 2. Unplug the AC adapter and all power and signal cab les from the system.

See “Removing the Upper Cove r” on page 67. 2. Lift the FFC to detach the adhesive securing the cable to the Upper Cover .
