Chapter 2 25 BIOS Setup Utility The BIOS Setup Utility is a hardware configuration prog ram built into y our computer ’s BIOS (Basic Input/ Output System). Y our computer is alre ady properly configured and optimi zed, and you do not need to run this utility .
26 Chapter 2 Navigating the BIOS Utility There are six menu options: Information, Main, Security , Boot, and Exit. Follow these instructio ns: • T o choose a menu, use the left and right arrow keys. • T o choose an item, use the up and down arrow keys.
Chapter 2 27 Information The Information screen displays a summary of your computer ha rdware information. NOTE: The system information is su bject to diff erent models. Parameter Description CPU T ype This field shows the CPU type and speed of the system.

Chapter 4 89 Intermittent Problems Intermittent system hang problems can be caused by a variety of reasons th at have nothing to do with a hardware defect, such as: cosmic radiation, electros tatic discharge, or software errors. FRU replacement should be considered only when a recurring prob lem exists.

There is one Ha rdware Open Gap on the main board for clearing the password check and one Hotkey for enab ling BIOS Recovery .
