4 Overview Recordab le Discs D VD-R W (Digital Video Disc - ReWritable): These Discs can be recorded on repeatedly . Recordings can be erased, then y ou can record again on the same Disc. D VD-R (Digital Video Disc - Recordable): These Discs can be recorded only once.

The essential diff erence between D VD-R and D VD-R W is that D VD-R is a record-once medium, while D VD-R W is a re-recordable/er asable medium. Y ou can re-record/ erase a D VD-RW disc appro ximately 1,000 times .

40 Basic Recor ding (Continued) Copying fr om D VD to VCR Y ou can copy the contents of a D VD to a VHS tape using the DUBBING button. ote If the D VD (or Discs) you are attempting to cop y is copy protected, you will not be ab le to cop y the disc. It is not permitted to copy Macrovision encoded D VDs (or Discs).
41 RECORDING Timer Recor ding This Recorder can be programmed to record up to 16 programs within a period of 1 month. 1 1 Press HOME. The Home menu appears. 2 2 Use b / B to select the TV option. 3 3 Use v / V to select the Timer Record option then press ENTER.

45 RECORDING Title List and Chapter List Menu Using the Title List-Original menu The Title List-Original is where you b uild and edit your Pla ylist, and where you can delete titles and mak e other changes to the Original content of the disc. Y ou can also pla y individual titles directly from the Title List-Original menu.

48 Title List and Chapter List Menu (Contin ued) Using the Title List menu The Title List is where y ou can see the all recorded titles, and where y ou can delete titles and make other changes to the Original content of the disc. Y ou can also pla y titles directly from the Title List menu.
49 EDITING Title and Chapter Editing Edits you mak e to the Original content changes the actual content of the disc. For e xample , if you delete a title or chapter from the Original content (Title or Chapter), that title or chapter is deleted from the disc, freeing up e xtra recording time.
50 Title and Chapter Editing (Continued) Making a New Pla ylist Use this function to add an Original title or chapter to the Pla ylist. When you do this, the whole title or chapter is put into the Pla ylist (you can delete bits y ou don’t need later — see Deleting an Original or Playlist title/chapter on page 51).
51 EDITING Title and Chapter Editing (Continued) Deleting a Title/Chapter When you er ase a title or chapter from the Playlist menu on D VD-RW discs f ormatted in VR mode, y ou only remov e it from the Pla ylist; the title/chapter remains in the Original menu.
