EN-18 Connecting a composite V ideo source device Examine your V ideo source device to determine if it ha s a set of unused composite V ideo output sockets available: • If so, you can continue with this p rocedure. • If not, you will need to reas sess which method you can use to con nect to the device.
EN-19 ENGLISH Operation S tarting up the pr ojector 1. Plug the power cord into the projector and into a wall socket. Turn on the wall socket switch (where fitted). Che ck that the POWER indicator light on the projector lights orange after power has been applied.
EN-20 Using the menus The projector is equipped with On-S creen Display (OSD) menus for making various adjustments and settings. Below is the overvie w of the OSD menu. Below is an example about how to set the OSD language. 1. Press MENU/EXIT on the projector or remote control to turn the OSD menu on.
EN-21 ENGLISH Utilizing the password function For security purposes and to help prevent unauthorized us e, t he projector incl udes an option for setting up password security . The password can be set through the On-Scree n Display (OSD) menu. For details of the OSD menu operation, please refer to "Using the menus" on page 20 .

EN-23 ENGLISH Adjusting the projected image Adjusting the projection angle The projector is equipped with 1 quick- rel ease adjuster foot and 1 rear adjuster foot. These adjusters cha nge the image height and projection angle. T o adjust the projector: 1.
EN-24 Corr ecting keystone Keystoning refers to the situation where the projected image is notic eably wider at either the top or bottom. It occurs when the projector is not pe rpendicular to the screen. T o correct this, besides adjusting the he ight of the projector , you will need to manually correct it following on e of these ste p s.
EN-25 ENGLISH Selecting the aspect ratio The 'aspect rati o' is the ratio of the image width to the image height. Most an alog TV and computers are in 4:3 ratio, which is the default for this projecto r , and digital TV and DVDs are usually in 16:9 ratio.
EN-26 Optimizing the image Selecting a pictur e mode The projector is preset wi th several predefined picture modes so that you can choose one to suit your ope rating environment and i nput signal picture type. T o select a operation mode that su its your need, you can follow one of the following steps.
EN-27 ENGLISH Fine-tuning the image quality in user modes According to the detected signal type, there are some user -definable f unctions available when User 1 or User 2 mode is selected. Y ou can make adjustments to these f unctions based on your needs.
EN-28 3D Color Management In most instal la tion situations, color man age ment will not be necessary , such as in classroom, meeting room, or lounge room situations where lights remain on, or where building external windows allow dayli ght in to the room.
EN-29 ENGLISH Setting the pr esentation timer The presentation time r can i ndicate the presentation time on the screen to help you achieve better time management wh en giving presentations.
EN-30 Hiding the image In order to draw the audience's full attention to the presenter , you can use BLANK on the projector or remote control to hide the screen image . Press any key on the projector or remote control to restore the image. The word ' BLANK ' appears at the lower right corner of the screen while the imag e is hidden.

Contact your dealer for instructions. The only thing you can do yourselves on a regular basis is to keep the lens and cabinet clean.
EN-39 Lamp information Getting to know the lamp hour When the projector is in operation, the duration (in hours) of lamp usage is automatica lly calculated by the built-in timer .
EN-40 Timing of r eplacing the lamp When the lamp indicator lights up red or a message appears suggesting it is time to replace th e lamp, please install a new lamp or consult your dealer . An ol d lamp may cause a malfunction in the projector and in some instances the lamp may explode.
