W arnin g and Safety Instructions Wa r n i n g : When using you r cooktop, follo w basic safety pr ecautions including the following: Read all instru ctions before using the cooktop. Use the cooktop onl y for its in- tended purpose. Be sure your a ppliance is properly installed and grounded by a quali- fied technician or ele ctrician.
W arnin g and Safety Instructions Use pots and pans t hat are the same size as the coo ktop heating elements. When high s ettings are used, re- main near the coo ktop in case splattering grease or liquid boil ove rs cause smok e. Only use dr y potholders .
Before using for the first time Read the ”Warning and Safety I n- structions“ before using for the first time. Heat th e burners for approx. 5 minutes at the highest set ting with out a pot in place, to harden the protective co ating.
Cooktop cont rols By using the in dividual burner c ontrol knobs, te mperatures can be freely se- lected. The controls can be tur ned either clock - wise or counter cloc kwise. The indicator lamp fo r each burn er lights as s oon as the r espective c ontrol knob is tur ned to a setting.
Bur ner description Safety thermosta t All bu rners ar e equ ipped with safe ty ther mostats that prevent t hem from overheatin g. The ther mostats may trip . . . if unsuitable cook ing pots are used. For example, pots with un even bases or which ar e too small.
Burner operatio n Place a pa n on the bur ner befo re turnin g on the appliance. This will protect the bur ner and save ener gy . The sur face of the bur ner and the base of the pan should be clea n and dry . T urning on the burner s T urn the contr ol knob to th e maxi mum setting for 1-2 minute s to allo w the bur- ners to rapidly heat up.

Saucepan bases For optimum energy consu mption dur- ing cooking, o nly pots with flat or slightly concav e bases should be used.
Cleaning and care T o pr event spills f rom burning on to the cooktop, clean the bur ners and cook- top sur face immediat ely in the e vent of a spill. Burner s Make sure no mois ture or soil pene - trates inside t he burner s. Wipe off any spilt food with a damp clo th once the burners have cooled.
