W arning and Safety instructions 10 Correct use Never use a nak ed flame beneath the cooker hood. T o avoid the danger of fire, do not flambé or grill over a nak ed flame. When switched on, the cooker hood could dr aw flames into the filter . F at deposits could ignite, presenting a fir e hazard.
W arning and Safety instructions 11 Do not use the co oker hood without the filters in place. This way you will avoid the risk of grease and dirt getting int o the appliance and hindering its smooth oper ation. Ther e is a risk of fir e if the cooker hood is not cleaned as described in these oper ating instructions.
W arning and Safety instructions 12 If exhaust air is t o be extr acted into a chimney or ventilation duct no longer used for other purposes, seek professional advice. Cleaning and care Do not use a st eam cleaning appliance t o clean this appliance.
Caring for the envir onment 13 Disposal of the packing mat erial The packaging is designed to pr otect th e appliance from damage during transportation. The packaging mat erials used are select ed from materials which are envir onmentally friendly for disposal and should be recycled.

Modes of operation 16 Depending on the model of the cooker hoo d, the following options are available: Extraction mode The air is drawn in and cleaned by the gr ease filt er and directed outside. Non-return flap The non-return flap is designed t o pr event the e xchange of r oom and outside air taking place.
Operation 17 Switching the fan on P ull the deflect or plate out. F or optimum extr action with minimum noise levels always pull the deflector plate out to its full e xtent. The fan will switch on at level 2 . The symbol and 2 will light up in the power level display .
Operation 18 F an run-on after cooking It is advisable t o run the fan for a few minutes after cooking has finished t o neutralise any lingering vapours and odours in the air . Switching the fan off P ush the deflect or plate in to switch the fan off.
Energy saving tips 19 This cooker hood oper ates very efficien tly and economically . The following will help you to save even more ener gy when using it: – Ensure that ther e is sufficient ventilation in the kitchen when coo king.
Cleaning and care 20 Casing General information The surfaces and controls ar e susce ptible to scr atches and abrasion. Please observe the following cleaning instructions. All e xt ernal surfaces and controls can be cleaned using hot water with a small amount of washing-up liquid applied with a well wrung-out soft sponge or cloth.
Cleaning and care 21 Grease filter The re-usable metal gr ease filter in the appliance r emoves solid particles fr om the kitchen vapours (grease, dust, etc) preventing soiling of the cooker hood.
Cleaning and care 22 Unsuitable cleaning agents Unsuitable cleaning agents can cause damage t o the surface of the filters if used regularly . Do not use: – cleaning agents containing descaling agen.
Cleaning and care 23 Charcoal filter If the cooker hood is connected for r ecir culation, a charcoal filter must be inserted in addition to the gr ease filter . This is designed to absorb cooking odours. It is fitted in the canopy above the grease filt er .

Installation 25 Before installation Befor e installation, it is important to r ead the information given on the following pages as well as the "Warning and Safety instructions" at the beginning of this booklet.

Installation 27 a 1 exhaust connection for exhaust ducting 150 mm b 1 reducing collar for exhaust ducting 125 mm c 1 non-return flap for fitting into the e xhaust connection on the motor unit .
Installation 28 Appliance dimensions S S a The front section of the wall housing unit must be fitt ed with a shelf to the depth of t he partition wall. If the appliance is fitted further back, e.g. to accommodate a fr ont panel, then the shelf depth should be correspondingly deeper .
Installation 29 f When installing the cooker hood with a D AR 3000 drop-down frame, mak e sure that you no te the differ ent wall unit height (please refer to the dimensions given in the DAR 3000 building-in diagr am). * The cooker hood can also be installed in a 600 mm wide unit (a D AR 3000 drop- down fr ame cannot be used in this instance).
Installation 30 Installation recommendations – T o achieve optimum vapour e xtr action, the cooker hood must cover the hob. It should be positioned centrally over the hob, not to the side of it. – The hob should be no wider than the coo ker hood, and if possible, it should be narrower .
Installation 31 a Example: Installation without a front panel fitt ed and with the fr ont edge of the deflector plate flush with the front edge of the furnitur e housing unit. This installation needs a shelf of at least 95 mm deep. b Example: Installation with a front panel t o match the kitchen furnitur e.
Installation 32 Secur e the spacer strip underneath the housing unit sides, flush with the rear wall. Dr aw a vertical line up both inside walls of the housing from the fr ont of the spacer strip. The brack ets are designed for 16 and 19 mm thick unit sides.
Installation 33 T o avoid scratching the deflect or lat e, do not r emove the protective film between the deflector plate and the casing until the hood has been placed in the housing unit. Installa tion of the cooker hood is carried out without the grease filt er placed in position.
Installation 34 Secur e the cooker hood t o the brack ets from below using two screws on each side. P ull out the deflect or plate and remove the pr otective film between the deflector plate and the casing.
Installation 35 Attaching the fr ont panel The front of the deflect or plate can be fitt ed with a fr ont panel to match existing kitchen furnitur e units. The front panel must not e xceed 1300 g. This applies to fr ont panels with a depth of up to 30 mm.
Installation 36 Fitting the grease filter Remo ve the prot ective foil around the edge of the grease filt er . When fitting the grease filt er , make sure that the r ed plastic guides are at the front and facing upwar ds.
Installation 37 A ttach the exhaust ducting t o the exhaust socket on the cooker hood. See "Conn ection for air extr action" for further instructions on fitting the ducting.

Installation, repairs and other work by unqualified persons could be dangerous, for which the manufacturer cannot be held liable.
Connection for air e xtraction 40 I f this cooker hood is used at the same time as a heating appliance that relies on o xygen from the same room ther e is a risk in certain circumstances of t oxic fumes building up. It is essential that the "Warning and Safety" instructio ns are observed.
Connection for air e xtraction 41 Condensate trap In addition to insulating the e xhaust ducting , we recommend that a suitable condensate tr ap is also installed to collect and evaporat e any condensate which may occur . Condensate tr aps for 125 mm or 150 mm ducting are available as optional accessories.
Connection for air e xtraction 42 Recirculation mode The silencer needs to be positioned between the e xhaust socket and the exhaust grille . Ensur e there is adequate space for fitting it.
