Page 7 2 DESCRIPTION OF CONTROLS AND CONNECTORS 2.1. Front panel (1) ON/OFF/VOLUME Turns REGATTA 2 on/o ff and regulates audio volu me reception. T he radio is turned off when you com pletely rotate the knob counter-cl ockwise until it clicks. (2) SQUELCH Regulat es the squ elch leve l (noise silencer in absenc e of signal s).

Page 9 2.3. Microphone (1) UP and DOWN buttons These two buttons change the tuning channel. The first scro lls upwards t hrough the tuned mar ine channels, the second scrolls dow nwards. (2) Button 16 For ease of use, button 16 performs the same func tion as button 16 on the front panel of the transce iver.
Page 10 3. INSTALLATION 3.1 Contents of package Before using your transc eiver, ensure that your pac kage is complet e and contains: (1) Mounting bracket (2) DC power cord w ith integrated protecting .
Page 11 3.3 Mounting the transceiver To mount the transceive r to your vessel (see follo wing picture): 1. Choose an app ropriate locati on, as explai ned in the para graph above .
Page 12 3.5 Installation of the antenna/electromagnetic exposure For optimal radio sett ings and min imal user expo sure to ele ctromagnet ic radio frequen cy energy , ensu re that: • The antenna is connected to the transceiver and is properl y install ed.

Page 14 4. BASIC OPERATION 4.1 Turning REGATTA 2 on/off To turn the transceiver on , rotate the ON/OFF/VOLUME knob clockwise u ntil it clicks on. You will hear a beep (acoust ic signal) and the LCD dis play will come on: the device is tur ned on to V HF mode.

Page 16 5 SCANNING FUNCTIONS 5.1 Channel scanning REGATT A 2 can automatica lly search for sig nals throu ghout the mari ne band by scanning, or selecting t he channels in rapid s equence. Wh en a signal is detected , the scan ning pau ses on that c hannel and rem ains blo cked unti l the sign al ends.
Page 17 Similar to scanning of m arine channels, Dual Watch and Triple watch stop wh en a signal is found and rem ain blocked for a few seconds after the signa l disappea rs, in order to give the user a chan ce to respond to a call, if necessary.
