5 • Lift open battery compar tment. • Inser t 4 AA alkaline batteries using the correct polarity and close batter y compar tment cov er. Batteries Installation 1. Inser t 4 AA alkaline batteries into the batter y compar tment 2. Slide the P ower s witch to the right for 1 second; the camera will be turned on.
6 ce CF Input the CF (Compact Flash) Card : 1. Open the CF card cover ,located on the left hand side of the camera. 2. Insert the CF card as shown. 3. Lock the ejector . 4. Close the CF card cover . 5. T urn the Mode Dial to Record mode. P ower on the camera.
7 ce CF T ake out the CF (Compact Flash) card : 1. P ower off the unit. 2. Open the CF Card cover 3. Unlock the ejector . 4. Push down on the ejector to release the CF card.
8 NO TE: The inter nal memor y only holds six photos when set on the low-resolution setting (HALF*). Use the CF (Compact Flash) card capability for maximum number of photos.

10 LCD Monitor Menu in each Mode : 1. Record Mode Menu T ur n Mode Dial to Record mode. Press the Menu button. Use UP and DOWN buttons to select. Use ENTER button to confirm. • LCD Brightness: -5 to +5, step 1 Adjust the LCD monitor brightness to suit the environment's light condition.
11 NTSC is mostly f or USA and Japan. P AL is mostly for Europe. • Slideshow: 1 to 10 seconds Change the displa y time from 1 second to 10 seconds. The time is preset as 3 seconds.
12 3. SET Setup Mode Menu T ur n Mode Dial to Setup mode. Press the Menu b utton. Use UP and DOWN buttons to select. Use ENTER button to confirm. • Date/Time Set date and time T o store the date (month/day/year) and time (hour/minute) on the image , use the UP and DOWN b uttons to set the value(s).
13 Status LCD display Icon Descriptions 1. Battery icon: Indicates 3 le vels of battery power , Full Half Low . Once Low is blinking, replace ne w batteries or camera will be turned off soon. 2. 4-digit 7-segment display : • Number: In Record mode , Show the total number of images remaining.

Rapid Fire: T ake 3 continuous photos • T o activate Rapid Fire, turn Mode Dial to Record Mode • Press the RES button until Rapid Fire icon appear on the status LCD display .
15 • Connect the USB cab le from the camera to the PC. • T urn Mode Dial to PC mode • Slide P ower switch b utton to power on the camera • Click 'My Computer' f older you will see an additional remov able disk f older.
Image on TV/TFT Digital Zoom Image on TV/TFT 16 Digital Zoom In Record Mode, press the “DISP” b utton to tur n on the LCD monitor and press “ENTER” button to activ ate the 2X Zoom function . “2 x D Zoom” will be displayed on lower left corner of the LCD monitor .
17 Install Camera Drivers and Software Install Arcsoft pr ograms and camera drivers for Windows 98/98SE/Me OS Note: The graphics shown are based on the user interf ace in Windo ws 98SE Install Arcsoft Pr ograms 1. Put the prog ram CD-R OM into the CD- ROM drive , it will perform an Auto run.

Pre view of the picture is not av ailable. 7. Select the folder in which you want to sa ve the picture(s) from the Save in field.
29 8. T o retrieve the sa v ed photos , click File>Open from the pull-do wn menu. F rom the Open dialog box, look in the f older in which the pictures are sav ed, highlight the image file and click Open b utton. 9. Y ou may now edit the opened picture with the tools pro vided .

31 4. Look in the folder where the picture you w ant is saved. Highlight the image file and click Open b utton. 5. The thumbnail of the opened picture will be added. 6. Click and highlight the thumbnail and clic k OK button 7. Y ou may now set y our print options by using the buttons or icons shown on the right and bottom of this screen.

34 Using your digital camera as a PC camera 1. Start Windo ws Netmeeting (or other similar programs) and set up an account. 2. P o wer up y our camera and connect it to the computer . Press MENU, DO WN, ENTER buttons to select Silent Video mode. 3. Click Start Video icon and you should see a live picture .
