6 INST ALLA TION AC CONNECTION CAUTION: T O PREVENT ELECTRIC SHOCK, MA TCH WIDE BLADE OF PLUG TO WIDE SLOT , FULL Y INSERT . Unravel the AC cord and connect it to a conveniently located AC outlet having 120V and 60Hz only . “12:00” will appear in the display .
7 OPERA TION Press the POWER button 1 to turn the unit on. Repeatedly press the FUNCTION button 2 to select the radio; RADIO will appear in the display . 2 1 1 Slide the Band switch 1 to select AM, FM or FM STEREO. T une a station by turning the TUNING control 2 .
8 OPERA TION (CONTINUED) Press the POWER button 1 to turn the unit on. Repeatedly press the FUNCTION button 2 to select nature sounds; “NS” will appear in the display . 2 1 1 Slide the NA TURE SOUND switch to the desired position (SONGBIRDS, OCEAN SURF , GENTLE RAIN, MOUNT AIN STREAM).
9 OPERA TION (CONTINUED) Press the OPEN button 1 and gently insert a CD onto the spindle (label side facing up) until it clicks. Close the CD door . Press the POWER button 2 to turn the unit on. 1 2 1 Repeatedly press the FUNCTION button to select CD; “CD” will appear in the display; the total number of tracks will appear in the display .
10 To skip to the beginning of the current track/previous or next track on the disc, pr ess t he Skip/ Search l 1 or m 2 button . To search forward or backward through the tracks on the disc, press and ho ld th e Skip/Search l 1 or m 2 button. 1 2 5 The time will appear on the display when listening to the CD.
11 OPERA TION (CONTINUED) With a CD inserted, press the POWER button 1 to turn the unit on. Repeatedly press the FUNCTION button 2 to select CD; “CD” will appear in the display; the total number of tracks will appear in the display . 2 1 1 Press the Play/Pause ( ®p ) button 1 to start playback; “PLA Y” will appear in the display .
12 OPERA TION (CONTINUED) With a CD inserted, press the POWER button 1 to turn the unit on. Repeatedly press the FUNCTION button 2 to select CD; “CD” will appear in the display; the total number of tracks will appear in the display .
13 OPERA TION Press the POWER button 1 to turn the unit on. Repeatedly press the FUNCTION button 2 to select the radio; RADIO will appear in the display . 2 1 1 Connect the external unit’s AUDIO OUT jack to the AUX IN jack on the rear of this unit via an audio cable (not included).
14 OPERA TION (CONTINUED) TO SET OR RESET THE ACTUAL TIME, YEAR AND DA TE W ithin five seconds, press the SKIP/SEARCH l 1 or m 2 button to set the present minute. When done, press the TIME button 3 again; the year will blink. 1 2 3 3 W ithin five seconds, press the SKIP/SEARCH l 1 or m 2 button to set the present year .
15 Within five seconds, press the SKIP/SEARCH l 1 or m 2 button to set the present month. When done, press the TIME button 3 again; the date will blink. 1 2 3 5 Within five seconds, press the SKIP/SEARCH l 1 or m 2 button to set the present date. When done, press the TIME button 3 again; the time will then be set.
16 OPERA TION (CONTINUED) TO SET OR RESET THE ALARM TIME 1 2 4 3 3 TO SET T O CD : Within five seconds, press the SKIP/SEARCH l 3 or m 4 button to select CD. Press the ALARM 1 1 or ALARM 2 2 button again to set the track; "ch" will appear , "1" & "ALR1" will blink.
17 TO SET T O RADIO : Within five seconds, press the SKIP/SEARCH l 1 or m 2 button to select RADIO. Make sure the desired band and station are set, and the volume is set as desired. Continue to Step 5. 1 2 4b TO SET T O NA TURE SOUNDS : Within five seconds, press the SKIP/SEARCH l 1 or m 2 button to select NA TURE SOUND.
18 OPERA TION (CONTINUED) NOTES: • When the actual time matches the selected preset alarm time(s), if set to Radio, Nature Sounds or Buzzer , the unit will automatically turn on for 60 minutes and then shut off. If set to CD, without selecting a starting track, the unit will start playback on the first track and play up to 60 minutes.
19 OPERA TION (CONTINUED) T o shut the alarm off, press the POWER button 1 and the alarm time will be reset for the next day . Press the ALARM MODE button 2 repeatedly until the ALARM 1 or ALARM 2 indicator disappears from the display to turn off the alarm and not set it for the next day .
20 Press the POWER button to turn the unit on. T une the desired radio station, select a nature sound or insert a CD as previously instructed. 1 Press the SLEEP button and the sleep time will appear in the display . 2 TO ACTIV A TE THE SLEEP FUNCTION Select a desired sleep time (1 to 99 minutes) using the SKIP/SEARCH l 1 or m 2 button.
21 CARE AND MAINTENANCE Caring for Compact Discs • T reat the disc carefully . Handle the disc only by its edges. Never allow your fingers to come in contact with the shiny , unprinted side of the disc. • Do not attach adhesive tape, stickers, etc.
