The FCB B card is standar d, the FCXL2 car d is used only for FC/SCSI T ape Pipelining (Device Extension) implementations.

3 Network Design Crite ria 3-7 Network Design • The UltraNet Edge 3000 does not listen to routing br oadcasts. One default gatewa y can be configured along with m ultiple host and network specif ic static r out es. Generally the default ga teway is defined for the Ethernet maintenance interface and the other static routes are used for the W AN.

This chapter provides the procedur es for building a custom UltraNet Edge 3000 chassis.
4 4-2 McD A T A Ultr aNet Edge 3000 User Guide Building the Custom Chassis Use the following procedur e to start the Custom Chassis W izard: 1. Select the Nodes tab located on the toolbar between the T reeV iew Area and the Network Map . The Nodes tab displays three drop-down menus.

Select the type of W AN you are configuring and the quantity in the drop-down menu. If you are configuring a 1x2 or 2x2 implementation, enter a 2 in the quantity field.

Enter the serial number and license key for Node10, which ar e found on the License and Registration Information document (P/N 30200538).

Click the Finish button to complete the configuration. 6. Right-cl ick on Node 20 and then repe at step through step to set the licensing information for this node.

This will cause “marching ants” to highlight the ar ea around the node icon, indicating that the node is in a special configuration mode.

Enter the IP Address (IP W AN address) and the Subnet Mask . The IP W AN address must be dif fer ent fro m the Ethernet maintenance interface address.
