5 S e t u p section 2 SETUP This sectio n describes th e steps required to prepare the MAC 500/E for operatio n. Unpacking The MAC 50 0/E packa ge includes : • 2 Fast-Lock clamp brackets • 5-m.

For prot ection fro m dange rous electr ic shock, the fixture must be grounde d (ear thed). The A C mains su pply sha ll be fitted wi th a fuse or circ uit breake r and gr ound-fa ult prote ction.
7 S e t u p 5. Working from a stable platform, h ang the fixture on the truss. Th e front of the fixture is indic ated by the arrow on the base. 6. Install a safety w ire that can bear at least 10 times the weight of the fixture. The attachment point is designed to fit a caribin er clamp.

Option selection is described in the nex t section. Martin RS-485 control The MAC 500/ E may be controlled with the Martin 3032 controll er with version 2.
10 MAC 50 0/E User Man ual Controllable effects All movin g effects are reset to a “hom e” position when t he fixture is p owered up. The fi xture can also be res et via DMX if DM X reset ( SPEC/dRES ) is enabled.
11 Op eration The Sh ortcu ts ( SPEC/ SCUT ) setting dete rmines whether the gobo wheel takes the shortest path to the next posi- tion or t urns in one directi on only . 17 Gobos and Color Fil ters section 5 GOBOS AND COLOR FILTERS The MAC 500/E h as 5 rotatin g positions for g lass or metal go bos, 9 static po sitions for metal gobos, and 9 p ositions for interc hangeable dic hroic glass color filters in special ho lders.

22 MAC 50 0/E User Man ual Replacing fuses The MAC 500 /E has 4 fuses. T he main fuse is loc ated on the powe r -switch pan el and ma y be repl aced without open ing the fi xt ure. The fuses fo r each of the 3 low-volta g e po wer supplies are located on t he printed circui t board.
23 Main tenance and Basic Ser vice MAC 500 E with electro nic bal last Elect ronic bal last models that com e factory set for 100 V or 120 V have a 10 A main fu se, which is located near the power switch. Units set at 2 10 V and abov e have a 6.3 A main fuse.

25 Main tenance and Basic Ser vice Optimizing lamp alignme nt The lamp a lignment i s set at the factory . If, the ligh t distributio n is uneve n, lamp al ignment m ay be ad justed as fo llows. A 3 mm Alle n wrench is re quired. 1. Disconnect t he fixture from AC power supply and allow the lamp to c ool for 15 min utes.
26 MAC 50 0/E User Man ual Cleaning Optical comp onents Be very ca reful when cleanin g the optica l components. T he colored surfa ce on the dich roic filters is achie ved by means of spe cial multi- layer coati ngs and even small scra tches may be visible.
