7 QuickSpell Another feature th e Magellan RoadMate receiver uses to make entering cities and streets ea sier is a feature known as QuickSpell. In the ex ample to the rig ht, “CE” has been ente red for a street name in Chicago, IL. The Magella n RoadMate receiver has predicted that the street name may be Cedar A ve.
8 Installation Ins tructions Installation of the Magellan RoadMate receiver is simp le and easy . The hardest pa rt will be picking the best location. Selecting the Location A few tips on selecting the proper locatio n. • Mount the Magellan RoadMate receiver in a place where it can be easily seen and will not interfere with your view of the road.
9 Att aching the Magellan RoadMate receiver to the Car Cradle Slide the Magellan RoadM ate receiver on th e ca r cradle so that the slot on the Magellan RoadMate receiver aligns with the tab on the car cradle. Slide the Magellan RoadMate receiver all the way down until it rest s on the 'feet'.
10 Map Screen The most commonly used screen is the Map screen. Whether you are following a rou te or just travelin g around a city , the chances are that the Map screen will be displayed. The Map screen can be displayed in two unique modes: normal and routing .

12 Current Location Screen The Current Location screen displa ys the approximate address of your current position, the next and previous intersections, your latitude, longitude, heading and ele vation. Accessing the Current Loca tion Screen There are two ways to open the Curr ent Location scree n.

14 Cr eating a Des tination Cr eating a Destina tion to an Addr ess When creating an address, the fi rs t step is to enter the city . The city can be specified by enter ing the name of the ci ty , entering the ZIP code for t he city or b y selecting a previously used city .
15 Cr eating a Destination to an Inter section When the street number is not known, an intersecting street can p inpoint the location. 1. From the Main Menu, tap the Intersection icon. 2. Enter City: You have three ways to do this: • To select the city from the list of previous cities, tap the button.

18 OneT ouch Menu In addition to Home Address, there are othe r icons in the OneTouch Menu. There are pr edefined b ookmarks a s well as user assignable bookmark s for searches and favori te destinations. They can be used for easy access of frequent dest inations an d to get loca l information when needed .
19 Setting a Route to a OneTo uch Icon With the OneTouch menu set up you can no w go to a saved address or search. 1. Tap the button in the top righ t corner o f the Ma p screen. 2. Tap one of the assigned On eTouch buttons. 3. If the assigned button is for a search, the list of POIs is displaye d.
20 Points of Inter est (POI) The Magellan RoadMate r eceiver has preloaded POIs that can be use d as a destination for a route. Selecting a restaurant or finding a gas statio n nearby is at your fingertips. Creating a Route to a POI by Cat egory POIs are categorized into unique categories from gas statio ns to tourist attractions.
21 Cr eating a Route to a POI by Name 1. From the Main Menu , tap the Points of Interest icon. 2. Tap the Search By Name button. 3. Spell the name of the POI to be used as the destination. You don’t need to en ter the full name, but the more characters you enter , the easier it will be to find the ex ac t POI you are searching for .
22 Home Addr es s Your most frequent destin ation can be entered and sa ve d in the Magel lan RoadMate as the Home Address for quick and easy access when you ne ed to navigate there. This does no t need to be your real home address. Choose any address you visit frequently .
23 T raveling on a Route Map Scr een When a route has been calculated, it will be displayed on the Map screen in green with small arrows indicating the direction of travel. The top of the screen displays th e na me of the street that comes next in your Turn List toge ther with its d istance.

25 Multi Destination Routes With the Magellan RoadMate you can create routes with more than one destina tion. Select one destination and create a single route first.
26 Saving a Multi Destination Route to Your Address Book Multi destination routes can be saved for later use from the addres s book. 1. From the Map screen, tap Menu . 2. Tap Trip Options . 3. Tap Edit Trip . 4. The Multiple Destination List is displayed.
