Installing Y our W ashing Machine Please read and follow the instruc tions carefully . • In addition to the instructions mentioned here , special regulations of the relevant water and pow er supply companies may apply . I f in doubt, have the washing machine connected by a qualified technician.
Moving and Installing Removing the T ransit Bolts F our transit bolts keep the interior of the washing machine in place while it ’ s being moved. They need to be removed before installation. Use a spanner (not supplied) and follow the instruc tions detailed below.
Lev elling the W ashing Machine There are 4 levelling feet on the underside. They must be adjusted to make sure the washing machine is level. 1. On each stand, loosen the lock nut by turning it clockwise with a spanner . 2. Adjust all f our f eet in this way.
W ater Drain Hose Poin ts to remember: • Don ’t t wist, pull out or bend the drain hose. • Y our washing machine should be no more than 85cm from the drain outlet. Draining to a sink or wash-basin • Secure the drain hose in position, so it can’ t drop out of the basin.

11 Pr eparation Read the following to understand how best to prepar e y our laundry f or washing . Organising Laundry • Read the washing label on each garment to help you sort your washing into differ ent loads. • Sor t the laundr y by colour , t ype of fabric and by how soiled it is.
12 Selec ting the P rogramme Here are the available programmes , additional functions and option settings. Spin speed can be selected separately for certain programmes.
13 W ash S etting Standard W ashing 1. Pull the door handle and put the laundry in the drum. Make sure no laundr y gets caught in the door . 2. Close the door and turn the Pr ogramme Dial to select your wash pr ogramme and water temperature . 3. Select the Spin Speed.

16 How to U se Laundr y Star ch Laundry starch makes y our clothes crisp in texture. Synthetic laundr y starch is a stiffening agent. • T o use laundry starch, simply add it to the softener compartment, next to where you add detergent. It will automatically be applied to your clothes as part of the final rinsing cycle.
17 Maintenanc e - Cleaning the W ashing M achine Cleaning the Drum Any rust lef t inside the drum by metal ar ticles must be removed immediately with chlor ine-free detergent. Never use steel wool. Don ’t put laundry in the washing machine during the drum cleaning.
18 Cleaning the Drain F ilter Be careful not to burn yourself while handling your clothes or touching the inside of the drum after a high temperature wash. Before cleaning the drain filter , switch off and unplug the washing machine. 1. Use a small, flat bladed screw driver to open the Service F lap.
19 Hints and Tips Problems Solutions Buttons don’ t work • Key lock is activated. D eactivate the key lock function. • The washing machine is operating a wash programme. • The Programme Dial was turned to a different programme. Door doesn’t open • Door lock may be active.
20 There ’ s not much foam • This can happen if you ’ve put powder deter gent direc tly into the drum – you must put it in the detergent drawer . • The amount of foam can vary , depending on the temperatur e, level and sof tness of your water .
