17 Getting Started Installing the SIM When you subscribe to a cellular network, you are provided with a plug-in SIM loaded with your subscription details, such as your PIN, any optional ser vices available and many others.
18 3. Slide the SIM into the SIM socket so that it locks the card into place. Make sure that the notched corner is at the top left and the gold contacts of the card face into the phone. No te When you need to remove the SIM, slide it, as shown, and take it out of the socket.
19 5. Attach back cover by sliding it up into position until it clicks. Charging the Batter y Use of unauthorized accessories could damage your phone and void your warranty . T o use the travel charger provided with your phone: 1. With the ba tter y in position in the phone, connect the lead from the travel charger to the bottom of the phone.

21 No te Always insert/remove the memor y card with the handset power off. The gold connectors must be face up and inserted first into the T ransFlash memor y card slot. Use only memor y cards that have been approved by the manufacturer . Some memor y cards might not be compliant with the handset.
22 T urning Y our Phone On and Off 1. Hold down the [END] key until the phone switches on. 2. If the phone asks f or a PIN, enter the PIN and press the OK key . The phone searches for your network and after finding it goes to the idle screen as illustrated below .
23 Making a Call 1. Make sure your phone is powered on. 2. Enter a phone number including the area code. T o edit a number on the display screen, simply press the key to erase one digit at a time. v Press and hold the key to erase the entire number . 3.
24 Ma ki ng an d an swe ri ng a vid eo ca ll Y ou can make a video call in a 3G covered ser vice area. If the called user has a 3G video phone in a 3G covered ser vice area, the call will be established. Y ou can also answer a video call for video incoming call.

If Any Key has been set as the answer mode any key press will answer a call except for the [END] key or the right soft key . 29 Us in g th e Sy mbo l Mod e The Symbol Mode enables you to enter various symbols or special characters. T o enter a symbol, press the key . Use the navigation keys to select the desired symbol and press the [OK] key .
30 Selecting Functions and Options Y our phone offers a set of functions that allow you to customize the phone. These functions are arranged in menus and sub-menus, accessed via the two soft keys marked the left soft key and the right soft key . Each menu and sub-menu allows you to view and alter the settings of a particular function.
31 Y our phone provides a number of control functions that you can use during a call. T o access these functions during a call, press the right soft key [Options] . During a Call The menu displayed on the handset screen during a call is different from the default main menu displayed when in idle screen, and the options are described below .
32 In-Call Menu Mu ti ng th e Mi cro ph on e Y ou can mute the microphone during a call by pressing the left soft key [Mute] . The handset can be unmuted by pressing the left soft key [Unmute] . When the handset is muted, the caller cannot hear you, but you can still hear the caller .
33 Ma ki ng a Sec ond Ca ll Y ou can make a second call while currently on a call simply by entering the second number and pressing the [SEND] key . When the second call is connected, the first call is automatically placed on hold. Y ou can swap between calls, by pressing the [SEND] key .

36 Internet Y ou can access various W AP (Wireless Application Protocol) ser vices such as banking, news, weather reports, and flight information. These services are speciall y designed for mobile phones and they are maintained by the W AP ser vice providers.

38 v Primar y Storage Y ou can assign the primar y storage to Phone or Memor y Card. v Cache Settings The web pages you have accessed are stored in the memor y of the phone. • Clear Cache: Remove all cached data in the memor y . • Allow Cac he: Set a value to determine whether a connection attempt is made through the cache or not.
39 On li ne me nu Once you are connected to the Internet, the following menu options are available: • Back: Moves to the previous page. • Forwar d: Moves to the next page. • Refresh: Loads the current page again. • Home: Moves to the initial homepage.
40 Media Camera T ak e Ph ot o Using the camera module built into your phone, you can take pictures of people or events while on the move. Additionally , you can send photos to other people in a picture message. The right soft key [Options] will bring up the following options.

45 Importing a Playlist from a 3rd Party Application 1. Open Windows Media Player on your computer (version 10.0 or higher). 2. Use the USB ada pter cable to connect the handset to the target PC. When you tr y to connect handset on your PC, the handset displays “Connecting as Music Sync.

52 v View Calendar: The calendar pop-up window is displayed. v Delete T asks: Deletes All Completed, All Past T asks or All T asks. Stopwatch This menu allows you to record the elapsed time of an event. The duration of an individual lap time (up to 20 times) and the total time can be displayed.
53 Y ou can check the record of missed, received, and dialed calls only if the network supports Calling Line Identification (CLI) within the ser vice area. The number and name (if available) are displayed together with the date and time of the call. Y ou can also view call times.
54 Call Histor y All Calls Allows you to view all of missed, received, and dialed call records. Call Duration This allows you to view the duration of incoming and outgoing calls. Y ou can also reset the call times. The following timers are available: Last Call Length of the last call.
55 Vision V ideo/Radio 'Rogers On Demand' brings you on- demand access to the live radio and the video clip Music 'Rogers Music Player' allows you to listen to the music which stored in both external and internal memor y cards and also connects you to the music download site.
56 Messages This menu includes functions related to SMS (Short Message Ser vice), MMS (Multimedia Message Ser vice), voice mail, as well as the network’ s ser vice messages. 69 Contact List This menu allows you to save and manage contact address information. The Contacts’ functions allow you to add a new address or search saved contact addresses by name.
70 Contacts Ser vice Dial Numbers Y ou can view the list of Ser vice Dialing Numbers (SDN) assigned by your network provider . Such numbers could include the emergency , director y assistance and voice mail numbers. 1. Select the Ser vice dial number option.
71 Audio & Ring T unes There can be sound modes: V olume1 to 7, Vibrate All, Silent All can be changed from the V olume menu under Ring tone. In addition, pressing and holding the [Star] key on idle screen mode can swap Vibrating Mode On or Vibrating Mode Off.
