NOTE: DIAGRAMS & ILLUSTRA TIONS ARE NOT TO SCALE. 10 INST ALLING THE FIREPLACE Step 1. Slide the fi replace into prepared fram- ing or position fi replace in its fi nal position and frame later . The fi replace may not be recessed into a combustible fl oor .
NOTE: DIAGRAMS & ILLUSTRA TIONS ARE NOT TO SCALE. 11 Note: Install the hearth extension only as il- lustrated (see Figures 21 & 22 ). The safety strips should extend from front of the fi replace at least 1 1/2" and should extend to be at least fl ush with the sides.
NOTE: DIAGRAMS & ILLUSTRA TIONS ARE NOT TO SCALE. 12 3. Cut or frame a hole through the outside wall for the installation of the air inlet hood. A 6-1/2" diameter hole is required.
NOTE: DIAGRAMS & ILLUSTRA TIONS ARE NOT TO SCALE. 13 CHIMNEY 30° OFFSET THROUGH FLOOR OR CEILING It may be necessary to assemble the chimney at 30° when passing through the fl oor or ceiling area. Use the F8FS30 fi restop spacer as shown in Figures 31 & 32 .

FTF8 fl ashings require fl ashing spacers. Slide fl ashing all the way down until the fl ashing base rests fl at on the roof ( Figure 38 ) .

If sections of pipe exceed 10' between elbows, a chimney stabilizer must be used at the midpoint ( Figure 45 ) .
