It accepts AT-style mode m comma nds and handle s the modem signals correctly. Normally, there is a modem connected to a local PC and a modem connected to a remote machine.

The unit drops the connection if there is no activity on the serial line before the se t time expires. Enter time in the format mm:ss, where m is the number of minutes an d s is the number of seconds.

8: Setup Mode: Advanced Settings UDS2100 User Guide 56 ARP Cache timeout in seconds Whenever the unit communicate s with another device on the network, it adds an entry into its ARP table. The ARP Cache timeout option allows you to define ho w many seconds (1-600) the unit will wait bef ore timing out this table.

We reco mmend that you set security over the dedicated network or over the serial setup to preve nt eavesdropping.

The Y (Yes) option disables the use of TFTP to perform network firmware u pgrades. With this option, you can d ownload firmware upgrades over the serial p ort using DeviceIns taller’s Recover Firm ware procedure.
