Troubleshooting OPERATION GUIDE 4-11 Clearing Paper Jams If the paper jammed in the paper transport system, or n o paper sheets were fed at all, the Paper jam message appears and the location of the paper jam (the compone nt where the paper jam has occurred) is also indicated.
Troubleshooting 4-12 OPERATION GUIDE General considerations for clearing jams Bear in mind the following considerat ions when attempting jam removal: CAUTION: When pulling the paper, pull it gently so as not to tear it. Torn pieces of paper are difficult to re move and may be easily overlooked, deterring the jam recovery.
Troubleshooting OPERATION GUIDE 4-13 Paper Cassette 1 Pull out the paper cassett e. 2 Remove any partially fed paper. Check to see if paper is loaded correctly. If not, reload the paper. 3 Push the paper ca ssette back in firmly. The printer warms up and resumes printing.

Troubleshooting OPERATION GUIDE 4-15 3 Remove the paper from the printer. If the jammed pa per appears to be pinched by rollers, pull it along the normal running direction of the paper. NOTE: If you cannot find a paper jam, try checking inside the rear of the printer .
