Connection a nd putting into operation Remote control features The rem ote control f eatures 2 com m and sets, m aking it poss ible to operate 2 receivers independently of each other in one room (not together with a twin receiver) . Note For this pur pose, program one receiv er on the command set 1 and the second rec eiver on the command set 2.

You only need to read this sec tion if you are carrying out the installation y ourself . You will find sample c onfigurations in the s ection "Connection exam ples".
Operating instru ctions LNB-supply voltage If the f eed sy stem (LNB) is powered by an external supply voltage and the LNB supply voltage is not used for s witching over polarity (e.g. Kathrein f eed system UAS 330), the LNB supply of the receiver m ust be s et to "OFF" (see s ection "Installation m enu, LNB configuration“ ).
Operating instru ctions First time operation The first steps Connect the receiver to the mains power s upply . Switch on the receiver by pressing the power button at the front of the unit. You will see " - - - - “ in the LED display , afterwards "0000.
Programme selection On-screen display s On Screen Display Important on-scr een display s The rec eiver functions are controlled by a micr oprocessor and extensive sof tware. The f ollowing explanations are intended to im prove understanding of all proce- dures and to m inimis e the risk of mistak es.
Programme selection the program m e is norm ally s cram bled. The requir ed program me c an be selected with the bar cursor and c onfirm ed by pressing the O button.
On-screen disp lays On Screen Display Selecting a TV pr ogramme by number entr y You can select a diff erent TV pr ogramm e during a cur rent TV program m e by enter- ing the program me loc ation number . Use the num ber buttons 1 to 0 for the purpose of entering the pr ogramm e lo- cations.
On-screen disp lays On Screen Display program me and by pressing the -+ buttons you jum p to the neighbouring page or enter-in the channel num ber with the buttons on the rem ote control. Confir m your program me s election by pressing the O button, press the L button to exit the program me list and rem ain in the program me already set.
T imer-settings Timer-settings You can use the tim er for rec ording a program me with a video rec order on tim e. Seven time rs are available which you can set to diff erent program m es as well as start and end tim es.
Programme ov erv iew Programme overvi ew EPG W ith the z button, you receive an overview of the progr amm es (see on-s creen display) currently received from the trans ponder with time and duration, provided that they are broadcast with electronic pr ogramm e guide (EPG) , for exam ple, with ARD and ZDF.
Sound settings Sound settings Setting the volume Set the required volum e level by press ing the -+ buttons on the rem ote control of the receiver. A bar indicator is dis play ed on the screen to s how the set volume.
Programme list s Programme lis ts The progr amm es /channels set at the factor y can be changed in the " program m e list" m enu. Select the m enu by pressing the M button, the ou buttons as well as -+ for TV or radio and O . If stored, a password m ust be additionally en- tered.
Programme list s To sort the channels You can sort program m es as desir ed. The program m es are sor ted by s hifting the entries in the program m e lists. Press the M button to ac cess the m ain menu. Selec t " program me list" by press- ing the ou buttons.
Programme list s The highlighted line c an bow be prepared for deletion by pressing the O button. The c ontrol program me now ask s: "Do you w ant to delete this channel?" Confirm your desired selection by pressing the corres ponding button.
Programme list s Only alphanumerical and dec imal entries are accepted at the positions name, · · · · · video PID (program m e identification) , audio PID, PCR PID (PCR = Program m e Clock Ref erence) and audio PID dig. Incorrec t PID entries are rejec ted with the display ed m essage.
Satellites add/remov e Satelli tes add/remove Setting up a satellite The LNB c an naturally also accom m odate new satellites. For this, the or bit position that y ou need to take a bear ing on must be k nown. The “Antenna settings“ menu entry in the installation m enu can be used as an aid f or alignment of the antenna.
Passw o rd Password You can prevent y our satellite rec eiver to be used by unauthorised persons by means of a password. W ith this password, you can ensure your reception settings are not changed by other persons. At the sam e tim e, y ou can activate the parental control f unction to lock out various program m es.
Passw o rd Here, use the ou buttons to s elect the "Program m e list" entry. Using the -+ buttons, you can now specify whether y ou want to edit the TV or r a- dio list. Confir m your selection with O . The des ired program me is now display ed on the s creen.
Operation from the front p anel Operation from the front panel If you have misplaced the r emote c ontrol or the batteries are em pty, y ou can s till operate you receiver from the front panel. Backup operation On the fr ont panel, there are 6 buttons at your disposal.
Setting system p arameters Setting sy stem parameters The f ollowing settings should not be altered without good reason, since they are factor y presets or operational settings, m atched spec ifically to y our receiving sys- tem. Only extensions to the receiving s y s tems or m odifications call f or new settings.

Setting system p arameters OSD colour Use the -+ buttons to selec t the backgr ound colour of the on- screen display. Confirm by pressing L two times. OSD trans Use the -+ buttons to select the trans parency of the backgr ound colour. Confirm by pressing L two times.
Inst allation menu Installation menu You should not change the following settings without good reason as they r epre- sent fac tory settings or oper ational settings that are adapted to your receiving sys- tem. New settings are only required when changes or expansions are m ade to the re- ception system.
Inst allation menu Changing the oscillator frequency Move over to the right-hand side in the LNB c onfiguration m enu by pressing O and the setting for LO High will be highlighted in colour. Using the num ber buttons, y ou can now enter a fr equency matc hing y our system.
Inst allation menu DiSEqC setting The prec ondition for this s etting is that you have made no changes in the DiSEqC (UFO) set-up, refer to th e section " DiSEq C (UFO) Set-up" .
