34 4.4.5 SD CARD Search Ta ke the following steps to proceed with the SD card search function. (1) Insert a SD Card into t he SD card slot of the rear unit. (2) Press the Search button to enter the search m ode. (3) Select the SD CARD and press the Enter button to acce ss the complete list of JPG files.

40 5.1 REC SETTING Th is page allows y ou to s et the recording rate and rec ording quality , and enables you to continue re co rd ing when the disk is full. REC RA TE: Th is option is for adjusting the num ber of pictures rec orded ever y second into a stora ge disk .
42 REC QUALITY : Th is option determines the im age quality to be recorded when an alarm input occur s. There are 4 levels of im age quality to choose from: BEST , HIGH, STA NDARD, and BASIC. Th e tab le below shows the level of image quality with the corresponding com pression r atio and image size.
44 5.3 CLOCK / TIMER T he DVR provides a weekly table, consisting of two periods of time each day for scheduled re co rd ing. This option allows you to set the time each day that the DVR will start and stop recording. CLOCK: Th is entry allow s users to set the system tim e.
46 NET DHCP: Th is option selects enable or disable for the DHCP comm unication func tion. OFF: Disables it. ON: Enables it. NOTE: If provided with a DHCP server , the VR-601 can get an IP automatically by setting this option to ON. NET IP: Th is option is used to configure the Ether net comm unication settings.
48 5.5 DISK SETTING REFORMA T : Th is option allows you to clear out all the data in the hard-disk drive. Y ou will be required to enter the pre-set password before pr oceeding with clearing out the data. Enter the standard password “9999” if you don’t set your individual password.
50 ME NU BA CKGND: T here are 3 levels of bac kground color tr ansparency, you can choose from : level 1 is totally transparent, level 3 is opaque, and level 2 is between level 1 and 3. T he background c olor is used in setup menu and sear ch function.

RS-232 & RS-485 Protocol 6.1 Setup 6.1.1 Use a Null Modem cable ( the standard RS-232 9 Pin Cable with Pin 2 and Pin 3 exchanged, see pin c onfiguration chart below for details) to connect the COM 1 on the rear panel of the DVR to a PC. Fo r RS-485, maxim um length of c able is 400 meter, and maximum number of nodes is 16.
