6 ENGLISH RADIO OPERA TIONS Listening to the radio Y ou can use either automatic searching or man ual searching to tune into a par ticular station. Searching a station automatically: Auto search 1 Select the band (FM1, FM2, FM3 or AM) you w ant. If a CD is in the loading slot or the CD changer is connected, first select the tuner using FUNC .
7 ENGLISH Searching a station manually: Manual search 1 Select the band (FM1, FM2, FM3 or AM) y ou want. Note: This r eceiver has thr ee FM bands (FM1, FM2, FM3). Y ou can use any one of them to listen to an FM br oadcast. 2 Press and hold ¢ or 4 until “M” (Man ual) star ts flashing on the display .

ENGLISH 17 T ur ning on/off the BBE function The BBE* function restores the brilliance and clarity of the or iginal liv e sound in recording, broadcasts, etc. When a speaker reproduces sound, it introduces frequency-dependent phase shifting, causing high-frequency sounds to take longer to reach the ear than lo w frequency sounds.

21 ENGLISH Y ou can select the proper cruise mode f or your car . This unit change the v olume lev el automatically (at 3 possib le lev els) based on the driving speed of your car b y detecting the alternator’ s generating frequency (A udio Cruise).
22 ENGLISH When this function is turned on (the CR UISE indicator lights up on the displa y), the proper volume le v el is automatically selected among the 3 possible le v els according to the driving speed, and the selected le vel is shown on the displa y .

29 ENGLISH CD CHANGER OPERA TIONS We recommend that y ou use one of the CH-X series (e x: CH-X1200) with your unit. If you ha ve another CD automatic changer , consult your JVC car audio dealer f or connections. • F or example, if your CD automatic c hanger is one of the KD-MK series, you need a cor d (KS-U15K) for connecting it to this unit.

33 ENGLISH MAINTENANCE Handling CDs This unit has been designed only to reproduce the CDs bearing the and marks. Other discs cannot be pla yed bac k. How to handle CDs When removing a CD fr om its case, press down the center holder of the case and lift the CD out, holding it by the edges .
