13 Preparation Configuring the initial settings T o configure the settings for the first time after purchase, connect the camera directly to y our computer via a LAN cable . 1 Connect the camera to y our computer via the LAN cable. ( ➭ page 11) 2 Press and hold the power b utton to power on.

16 Preparation Setting the user name and passw ord The user name and pass word set at the time of purchase are common across all the units of this model. They should be changed as soon as possib le f or security reasons. 1 Select "COMMON SETTINGS" in "MANA GE".

18 Preparation Allo wing Y ou to Conn ec t from O utsid e ( M onitoring Set ting ) T o view images from outside, y ou normally need to obtain a global IP address or URL to access from a browser . Entering the account of our DDNS ser vice allows y ou to set these easily .
19 Preparation Adding a camera driver's user T o access to the unit using the camera dr iv er ( ➭ page 39) , you need to set the user name and pass word bef orehand. (Up to f our users can be registered.) Initial setting: USERNAME "root", P ASSWORD "pass word".

Use the distrib ution software or website f or the web camera such as Ustream Producer (http://www .ustream.tv/producer) to stream the images. The camera driver and "JVC CAM Control" are installed simultaneously .
