4 Safety Precautions W ARNING Setup This Plasma Display is for use only with the following optional accessories. Use with any other type of optional accessories may cause instability which could result in the possibility of injury . (All of the following accessories are manufactured by JVC) • Speakers .
5 Safety Precautions If problems occur during use If a problem occurs (such as no picture or no sound), or if smoke or an abnormal odour starts to come out from the Plasma Display , immediately unplug the power cord plug from the wall outlet. • If you continue to use the Plasma Display in this condition, fire or electric shock could result.

When connecting the speakers, be sure to use only the optional accessory speakers. Refer to the speaker ’ s Installation Manual for details on speaker installation.
8 Connections PC Input T erminals connection Notes: (1) Computer signals which can be input are those with a horizontal scanning frequency of 15 to 1 10 kHz and vertical scanning frequency of 48 to 120 Hz. (However , the image will not be displayed properly if the signals exceed 1,200 lines.

Y ou can be completely enveloped in sound; just as if you were at a concert hall or cinema.
12 Connecting the AC plug to the W all Outlet Note: AC plug types vary between countries / regions. Press the Main power switch on the Plasma Display to turn the Plasma Display on: Power-On. Power Indicator: Green If the power indicator is lit red, press the power button on the remote control to turn the Plasma Display on.
13 Select the input signal Press the INPUT button to select the input signal to be played back from the equipment which has been connected to the Plasma Display . Power On / Off and input signal selection Selecting the On-Screen Menu Language Press to display the Set Up menu.

17 Adjusting Picture Pos./ Size Adjusting screen 1 Press to display the Picture Pos./ Size menu. Press to adjust Pos./ Size. Press to exit from adjust mode. Press to select H-Pos / H-Size / V -Pos / V -Size / Clock Phase. During “ A V(S Video) ” and “ Component ” input signal.

19 Details Adjusts the dark shades of the image in gradation. (This cannot be adjusted when the input signal is RGB or PC.) Adjustment of parts which are extremely bright and hard to see. Adjusts the white balance for light red areas. Adjusts the white balance for light blue areas.
20 Sound Adjustment 1 Press to display the Sound menu. Mute Press the R button Useful when answering the phone or receiving unexpected visitors. Press this button to mute the sound. Press again to reactivate sound. Sound is also reactivated when power is turned of f or volume level is changed.
21 Digital Zoom 1 3 2 4 This displays an enlargement of the designated part of the displayed image. Display the “ Operation Guide ” . Press to access Digital Zoom. Select the area of the image to be enlarged. The “ Operation Guide ” will be displayed.
22 PRESENT TIME Setup / Set up TIMER The timer can switch the Plasma Display On or Off. Before attempting T imer Set, confirm the PRESENT TIME and adjust if necessary . Then set POWER ON T ime / POWER OFF T ime. Press to display the Setup menu screen.
23 Set up TIMER Press to set up POWER ON T ime / POWER OFF T ime. button: Forward button: Back Press to select POWER ON T ime / POWER OFF T ime. 1 Press to select On. 2 Press twice to exit from Setup. 3 PRESENT TIME Setup / Set up TIMER Press to select POWER ON Function / POWER OFF Function.
24 Screensaver (For preventing after-images) Do not display a still picture, especially in 4:3 mode, for any length of time. If the display must remain on, a Screensaver should be used. 2 3 1 4 Press to display the Setup menu screen. Press to select the Screensaver .
25 Screensaver (For preventing after-images ) Setup of Screensaver T ime Press to select Start T ime / Finish T ime (When T ime Designation is selected). Press to select Periodic T ime / Operating T ime (When Interval is selected). Press to setup. button: Forward button: Back Note: T imer function will not work unless “ PRESENT TIME ” is set.
26 Side Panel Adjustment 2 Press to select the Side panel. Press to select Off, Low , Mid, High. Press to exit from Screensaver . 3 1 Do not display a picture in 4:3 mode for an extended period, as this can cause an after-image to remain on the side panels either side of the display field.
27 Reduces power consumption Press to select “ On ” or “ Off ” . Press to select “ Power save ” “ Standby save ” “ Power management ” “ Auto power off ” . • Power save: When this function is turned On, luminous level of the plasma display is suppressed, so power consumption is reduced.
28 Setup for MUL TI DISPLA Y By lining up Plasma Displays in groups of 4 or 9 as illustrated below , an enlarged picture may be displayed across all screens. For this mode of operation, each plasma display has to be set up with a Display number to determine its location.
29 Press to select Ratio (2nd step). Press to select “ 2 × 2 ” , “ 3 × 3 ” . How to set the display location number for each Plasma Display Press to select Location.
30 Setup for Input Signals Component / RGB-in Select Select the input signals to be connected by installing the Optional Video Input Card. (Refer to the Operating Instructions for the optional Video Input Card.) Select to match the signals from the source connected to the Component / RGB input terminals.
31 Cinema reality Setup for Input Signals Colour system / Aspect Auto Select Signal from the “ Setup ” menu during A V(S Video) input signal. ( “ Signal [A V] ” menu is displayed.) Press to select the “ Colour System ” or “ Aspect Auto ” .
32 Select Signal from the “ Setup ” menu during RGB input signal. Press to adjust. Setting RGB sync signal: Confirm that the input is set to RGB input (this setting is valid only for RGB input signal). H & V : The H and V sync signals are input from the HD / VD connector .
