1 Thank you for purchasing the JVC Micro Component System. W e hope it will be a valued addition to your home, gi ving you years of enjoyment. Be sure to read this instruction manual carefully before operating your new stereo system. In it you will f ind all the information you need to set up and use the system.
2 Getting Star ted Accessories Make sure that you ha ve all of the follo wing items, which are supplied with the System. A C Po wer Cord (1) AM Loop Antenna (1) Remote Control (1) Batteries (2) FM W ire Antenna (1) If any of these items are missing, contact your dealer immediately .
3 CAUTION: Make all connections before plugging the System into an AC power outlet. Connecting the FM Antenna AM EXT AM LOOP FM (75 Ω ) COAXIAL ANTENNA T urn the loop until you hav e the best reception. CAUTION: T o avoid noise, keep antennas away fr om the System, the connecting cor d and the AC power cord.
4 CAUTION: Make all connections before plugging the System into an AC power outlet. Connecting the Speakers For each speaker , connect one end of the speak er wire to the speaker terminals on the back of the System. 1. Open each of the terminals and insert the speak er wires firmly , then close the terminals.
5 Connecting the AC Power Cor d Firmly insert the supplied A C po wer cord into the A C inlet on the back of the Unit. CAUTIONS: • ONL Y USE JVC POWER CORD PROVIDED WITH THIS SYSTEM TO A VOID MALFUNCTION OR DAMAGE TO THE SYSTEM.
6 Common Operations Adjusting the V olume Press the V OLUME + b utton to increase the volume or press the V OLUME – button to decrease it. Y ou can adjust the volume lev el between 0 and 40.
7 Showing the Clock Time In Standby mode, the digital clock appears on the display . When the System is turned on, you can display the digital clock any time. T o display the digital c lock, press the CLOCK b utton on the Unit or DISPLA Y button on the Remote Control.
8 Using the T uner FM mode indicators OR ■ Preset T uning using the Remote Control (P ossible only after presetting stations) Select the desired preset number using the UP , DO WN, > or < button on the Remote Control. After 1 second the display will show the preset number’ s band and frequency .
9 4 Press the UP , DOWN, >, or < button within 5 seconds to select the preset number . UP or > button: Increases the preset number by 1. DO WN or < button: Decreases the preset number by 1. • When the > or < button is held do wn, the preset number changes rapidly .

11 4 Pr ess the PROGRAM button. The System enters the programing mode and the PR OGRAM indicator lights up. 5 Pr ess the > or < button to select the track to program. > button: Increases the track number by 1. < button: Decreases the track number by 1.
12 Playing at Random The tracks will play in no particular order when you use this mode. Press the RANDOM button on the Remote Control. The RANDOM indicator lights up on the display , and tracks will be played in random order .

15 One track r ecording –––––––––––––––––– 1 Insert a blank or erasable tape into the Cassette Deck. 2 Play the track on the CD you wish to recor d. 3 Pr ess the REC button on the Unit. The CD player returns to the beginning of that track and the track is recorded on the tape.
16 Using Exter nal Equipment Listening to External Equipment Y ou can connect an audio equipment — used only as a playback device. ■ First make sure that the e xternal equipment is properly connected to the System. (See page 4.) 1 Set the VOLUME control to the minimum position.
17 Using the Timers The timers let you control listening and recording functions automatically . Setting the Clock • When you plug the A C po wer cord into the wall outlet, the CLOCK indicator flashes on the display . Y ou can set the clock whether the System is on or of f.
18 4 Select the music sour ce. 1. Press the TIMER button on the Unit. “TUNER” flashes on the display . 2. Press the ¢ or 4 b utton to select the music source you want to listen to. The display changes as sho wn below . 5 Set the volume level. 1. Press the TIMER button on the Unit.
19 Setting the Sleep Timer When a source is playing, use the Sleep Timer to turn the System of f after a certain number of minutes. By setting the Sleep T imer , you can fall asleep to music and kno w that your System will turn of f by itself rather than play all night.
