10 – English GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS Cutting attachment guar d This guard is intended to pre vent loose objects from being thrown to wards the operator . The guard also protects the operator from accidental contact with the cutting attachment. Check that the guard is undamaged and not cr acked.

14 – English ASSEMBL Y Assembling the handlebar and thr ottle (BC 2145, CC 2145) • Remov e the screw at the rear of the throttle handle . • Slide the throttle handle onto the right side of the handlebar , (see diagram). • Align the screw hole in the throttle handle with the hole in the handlebar .
English – 15 ASSEMBL Y Assembling the cutting equipment Fitting the blade guar d/combination guar d, grass blade and ball-bearing- mounted suppor t cup • Hang the trimmer guard/combination guard (A) on the two hooks on the plate holder (M). Bend the guard around the shaft and tighten it with the bolt (L) on the opposite side of the shaft.
16 – English ASSEMBL Y Fitting the b lade guard and sa w blade • The blade guard (A) is fitted using 4 scre ws (L) as shown. CA UTION! Always use the recommended guard f or the cutting attachment you are using. See chapter on T echnical data. • Fit the drive disc (B) on the output shaft.
English – 17 ASSEMBL Y Fitting other guar ds and cutting attachments • Fit the trimmer guard/combination guard (A) intended for use with the trimmer head/plastic blades. Hang the trimmer guard/combination guard (A) on the two hooks on the plate holder (M).
18 – English ASSEMBL Y 2 Grass clearing The machine should be suppor ted in a harness when grass clearing so that the cutting equipment is parallel to the ground. V ector harness Safety release Push down the red release le ver to release the machine from the harness.
English – 19 FUEL HANDLING Fuel safety Ne ver star t the machine: 1 If you ha ve spilled fuel on it. Wipe off the spillage and allow remaining fuel to e vaporate . 2 If you ha ve spilled fuel on y ourself or your clothes , change your clothes . W ash any par t of your body that has come in contact with fuel.
20 – English FUEL HANDLING Mixing • Alwa ys mix the gasoline and oil in a clean container intended f or fuel. • Alwa ys star t by filling half the amount of the gasoline to be used. Then add the entire amount of oil. Mix (shake) the fuel mixture.
English – 21 ST AR TING AND ST OPPING Chec k before starting • Check the b lade to ensure that no cracks ha ve f or med at the bottom of the teeth or by the centre hole .
22 – English ST AR TING AND ST OPPING Start throttle: (FC 2145, FC 2145 S , FC 2145 W , BC 2145, CC 2145) Set the throttle to the star t position by mo ving the choke control to the choke position and then returning it to its original position.
English – 23 W ORKING TECHNIQ UES General w orking instructions Basic safety rules 1 Look around you: • T o ensure that people, animals or other things cannot aff ect your control of the machine.
24 – English W ORKING TECHNIQ UES W orking methods • Bef ore you star t clearing, check the clearing area, the type of terrain, the slope of the ground, whether there are stones, hollo ws etc. • Star t at whiche ver end of the area is easiest, and clear an open space from which to work.
English – 25 W ORKING TECHNIQ UES • T o fell a tree f orwards, the bottom of the tree should be pulled backw ards. Pull the blade bac kwards with a quick, firm movement. • Large stems must be cut from two sides . First deter mine which direction the stem will f all.
26 – English W ORKING TECHNIQ UES Grass trimming with a trimmer head T rimming • Hold the trimmer head just above the g round at an angle. It is the end of the cord that does the work. Let the cord work at its own pace. Nev er press the cord into the area to be cut.

28 – English MAINTENANCE Fine adjustment of the idle speed T Adjust the idle speed using the idle adjustment screw T , if it is necessar y to readjust. First tur n the idle adjustment scre w T clockwise until the cutting attachment starts to rotate.
English – 29 MAINTENANCE Adjusting the start throttle speed (BC 2145, CC 2145) The correct star t throttle speed is set by means of an adjuster on the rear of the handle ne xt to the cable. Use this screw (5 mm Allen screw) to increase or decrease the start throttle speed.
30 – English MAINTENANCE Cleaning the air filter Remov e the air filter cov er and take out the filter . W ash it clean in warm, soapy w ater . An oiled f oam plastic filter (av ailable as an accessory) must be used if the machine is operated in e xtremely dusty conditions.
English – 31 MAINTENANCE Winter use Running problems can occur when using the machine in the cold and snowy conditions caused b y: • T oo low engine temperature.
