English – 5 SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS Vibration damping system Y our machine is equipped with a vibration damping system that is designed to reduce vibration and mak e operation easier . Use of incorrectly wound cord or an incorrect cutting attachment increases the le vel of vibr ation.
6 – English SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS Chec king, maintaining and servicing the machine ′′ ′ ′ s safety equipment Throttle loc k • Make sure the throttle control is loc ked at the idle setting when the throttle lock is released. • Press the throttle lock and mak e sure it retur ns to its original position when you release it.
English – 7 SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS • Regularly check that the muf fl er is securely attached to the machine. • If the muf fl er on y our machine is fi tted with a spark arrestor mesh then it should be cleaned regularly . A bloc ked mesh causes the engine to ov erheat, which can lead to serious damage.

English – 9 SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS General safety precautions Starting • The complete clutch cov er and shaft must be fi tted before the machine is star ted, otherwise the clutch can come loose and cause personal injur y . • Ne ver start the machine indoors.

English – 11 SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS Grass trimming using a trimmer head and plastic blades T rimming • Hold the trimmer head just above the g round at an angle. It is the end of the cord that does the work. Let the cord work at its own pace. Nev er press the cord into the area to be cut.

English – 13 ASSEMBL Y Fitting the loop handle (GT 2125) • P osition the handle on the shaft. Note that the handle must be mounted below the arro w on the shaft. • Fit the screw , secur ing plate and wing nut as shown in the diagram. • Tighten the wing nut.
14 – English ASSEMBL Y Fitting the trimmer guar d and A uto 32 trimmer head (GC 2125) • Fit the correct trimmer guard (A) for use with the trimmer head. Hook the guard onto the fi tting on the shaft and secure it with the bolt (L). • Fit the drive disc (B) on the output shaft.
English – 15 ASSEMBL Y Fitting other guar ds and cutting attachments (GC 2125) • Fit the correct trimmer guard (A) for use with the trimmer head. Hook the trimmer guard/combination guard onto the fi tting on the shaft and secure with the bolt (L).
16 – English FUEL HANDLING Fuel CA UTION! The machine is equipped with a two-strok e engine and must alwa ys been run using a mixture of gasoline and two-strok e engine oil. It is impor tant to accurately measure the amount of oil to be mix ed to ensure that the correct mixture is obtained.
English – 17 FUEL HANDLING Fueling • Clean the area around the fuel cap . Contamination in the tank can cause operating prob lems. • Ensure that the fuel is well mix ed by shaking the container bef ore fi lling the tank.
18 – English ST AR TING AND ST OPPING Chec k before starting • Check that the support fl ange is not crack ed due to fatigue or due to being tightened too much. Discard the suppor t fl ange if it is crac ked. • Ensure the locking n ut has not lost its captive f orce.

20 – English MAINTENANCE Carb uretor Y our Jonsered product has been designed and manuf actured to speci fi cations that reduce harmful exhaust fumes.
English – 21 MAINTENANCE Fine adjustment of the idle speed T Adjust the idle speed using the idle adjustment screw T , if it is necessar y to readjust. First tur n the idle adjustment screw T clockwise until the cutting attachment starts to rotate. Then turn the screw anticlockwise until the cutting attachment stops.
22 – English MAINTENANCE Cooling system T o keep the working temperature as low as possib le the machine is equipped with a cooling system. The cooling system consists of: 1 Air intake on the starter . 2 Fins on the fl ywheel. 3 Cooling fi ns on the cylinder .
English – 23 MAINTENANCE Spark plug The spark plug condition is in fl uenced by: • Incorrect carburetor adjustment. • An incorrect fuel mixture (too much or incorrect type of oil). • A dir ty air fi lter . These f actors cause deposits on the spark plug electrodes, which ma y result in operating problems and starting dif fi culties.
