MP6312i 1 INTRODUCTION Congratulations on your purchase of the Jensen MP6 312i Mobile Receiver . It’s a good idea to read all of the instructions before beginning the insta llation. We re commend having your Je nsen MP6312i installe d by a reputable installation sho p.
MP6312i 2 INSTALLATION This unit is designed for in st allation in cars, trucks and vans with an existing radio opening. In many cases, a spec ial installation kit will be required to mount the r adio to the dashboar d. Thes e kits are available at electronics supply stores and car stereo spec ialty shops.
MP6312i 3 4. Place the radio in front of the dashboard ope ning so the wiring can be brought through the mo unting sleeve. Follow the wiring diagram carefully and make certain all con nections ar e secure and insulated with wire nuts or electrical ta pe.

MP6312i 6 F RONT P ANEL RELEASE The front panel rele ase button (4) releas es the mech anism that ho lds the front panel to the chassis. Detaching the Front Panel T o detach the fro nt panel, first pr ess the front p anel release button to release the lef t side of the p anel.
MP6312i 7 OPERATION Power Press the power bu tton (2) to turn the unit on. Press and hold the power button again to turn the unit off. NOTE: LCD panels may tak e longer to respond when subjected to cold temperatures for an ext ended period of time. In addition, t he visibility of the numbers on the LCD may decrease slightly .
MP6312i 8 Equalizer Selector The equalizer function applie s preset sound ef fect s to the unit’ s audio output sign al. Press EQ (16) to step through the following equalizer op tions: “ROCK”, “HIP-H OP”, “DANCE”, and “EQ OFF”.
MP6312i 9 T UNER OPERATION The MP6312i allows you to receive c hannels in U.S.A. or EUROPE mode. See “Frequency S pacing” on p age 8 to lear n how to change the tuner options. Select a Band Press the BAND button (3) to change between th ree FM and two AM bands.

MP6312i 12 MP3/WMA OPERATION MP3 and WMA (Windows Media Audio) music files are digital au dio files that are compressed to a llow more files on a single CD. This unit can play MP3/WMA directly from files cont ained on a CD-R/R W using the buttons on the receiver (or optional r emote contro l) as described below .

MP6312i 17 IPOD OPER ATION Accessing iPod Mode Press the SRC button (6) to change to iPod playback mode. Selecting a Track Press the TUNE/TRACK >>| or |< < button (17) to select a track. Press and hold the TUNE/TRACK >>| or |<< button (17) to fast forward or fast reverse thro ugh the track.
MP6312i 18 REMOTE CONTROL The remote control will allow you to control the basic functions of the MP6312i. Operating Range The remote control sensor (19) is located to the right of the SRC button. The remote control can oper ate within a distan ce of 3~5m.
MP6312i 19 CARE AND MAINTENANCE CD Player The following guidelines will help you ex tend the life of your CD player: 1. When cleaning the vehicle interior , do not get water or clean ing fluids on the unit. 2. The CD player will not operate prop erly in extreme hot/cold or under damp conditio ns.
