MP6212 1 INTRODUCTION Congratulations on your purchase of the Jensen MP621 2 Mobile Receiver . It’s a good idea to read all of the instructions before beginning the installation. W e recommend ha ving your Jensen MP6212 inst alled by a reputable installation shop.
MP6212 2 INSTALLATION This unit is designed for installation in cars, trucks and vans with an existing radio opening. In many cases, a special installation kit will be required to mount the radio to the das hboard. These kits are available at elect ronics supply stores and car stereo specialty shops.
MP6212 3 Using the Mounting Sleeve 1. Slide the mounting sleeve of f the chassis. If it is locked into position, use the removal tools (supplied) to disengage it.
MP6212 4 ISO Installation This unit has threaded holes in the chassis side panels which may be used with the original factory mounting brackets of some vehicles to mount the ra dio to the dashboard. Please consult with your local car stereo shop for assistance on this type of installation.
MP6212 5 WIRING NOTE: The amplifier in this radio is only designed for use with four speakers. Never combin e (bridge) outputs f or use with two speak ers. Never ground negative speak er leads to chassis groun d. Failure to wire exactly as shown may cause electrical damage to the radio.
MP6212 6 FR ONT PANEL RELEASE The front panel release button (4) releas es the mechanism that holds th e front panel to the chassis. Detaching the Front Panel T o detach the front p anel, first press the front panel rele ase button to release the left side of the p anel.
MP6212 7 OPERATION Power Press the power button (2) to turn the unit on. Press and hold the power button again to turn the uni t off. NOTE: LCD panels may take longer to respond when subjecte d to cold temperatures for an extend ed period of time. In addition , the visibility of the numbers on the LCD may decrease slightly .
MP6212 8 Equalizer Selector The equalizer function applie s preset sound ef fects to th e unit’s au dio output signal. Press EQ (16) to step through the following equalizer options: “ROCK”, “HIP-HOP”, “DANCE”, and “EQ OFF”.
MP6212 9 T UNER OPERATION The MP6212 allows you t o receive channels in U.S.A. or EUROPE mode. See “Frequency S pacing” on page 8 to learn how to change the tuner options. Select a Band Press the BAND button (3) to change betw een three FM and two AM bands.

MP6212 11 CD PLAYER OPER ATION Insert and Eject CD Insert a CD, label side up. T o stop CD play and eject the CD, press th e eject button (1). NOTE: The unit is designed fo r play of standard 5” (12 cm.) com pact discs only. Do not attempt to use 3” (8 cm.
MP6212 12 MP3/WMA OPERATION MP3 and WMA (Windows Media Audio) music files are digit al audio files that are compressed to allow more files on a single C D. This unit can play MP3/WMA directly from files con tained on a CD-R/R W using the buttons on the receiver (or optional remote contr ol) as described below.
MP6212 13 MP3 Playing Order When selected for play , files and folders (Folder Search, File Search or Folder Select) are accessed in the o rder they were written by the CD writer . As a result, the order in which th ey are expected to be played may not match the order in which th ey are actually played.
MP6212 14 Navigating Folders Press the folder UP (21) button (also th e “5” button) to advance 10 song s. Press the folder DN (20) button (a lso the “6” button) to mo ve 10 songs in reverse. Press and hold the folder UP button to skip to the next folder or the folder DN button to return to the previous folder .
MP6212 15 SATELLITE RADIO OPERATION Listeners can subscribe to XM ® Radio on the Web by visiting www.xmradio.com, or by calling (800) 967-2346 . Customers should have their Radio ID rea dy (see “Displaying the I dentification (ID) Code”). Customers can receive a limited number of free-to- air channels without activation.

MP6212 17 REMOTE CONTROL The remote control will allow you to control the basic functions of the MP6212. Operating Range The remote control sensor (19) is located to the right of the SRC button. The remote control can oper ate within a distan ce of 3~5m.
MP6212 18 CARE AND MAINTENA NCE CD Player The following guideline s will help you extend the life o f your CD player: 1. When cleaning the vehicle interior , do not get water or cleaning fluids on the unit. 2. The CD player will not operate properly in extreme hot/cold or under damp conditions.
