11 OPERA TION The operation of any tractor can result in f oreign objects thrown into the ey es, which can result in severe e ye dam age. Alwa ys wear safety glass es or ey e shields while operating your tractor or per form ing any adjustments or repairs.
12 OPERA TION T O OPERA TE ON HILLS W ARNING: Do not drive up or down hills with slopes greater than 15° and do not drive across an y slope. • Choose the slowest speed bef ore star ting up or down hills. • A void stopping or changing speed on hills.
13 OPERA TION PURGE TRANSMISSION CA UTION: Ne ver engage or disengage freewheel le ver while the engine is run- ning. T o ensure proper operation and perf or mance, it is rec om - mend ed that the transmission be purged bef ore operating tractor f o r the fi rst time.

16 MAINTENANCE BLADE REMO V AL (See Fig. 9) • Raise mower to highest position to allo w access to blades . • Remove b lade bolt, lock w asher and fl at w asher se cur ing bla de. • Install new or reshar pened blade with tr ailing edge up tow ards deck as sho wn.
17 MAINTENANCE V- B E LT S Check V -belts for deterioration and wear after 100 hours of operation and replace if necessary . The belts are not ad just able . Re place belts if they begin to slip from wear . TRANSAXLE COOLING The transmission f an and cooling fi ns should be k ept clean to assure proper cooling.
18 AIR FIL TER (See Fig. 14) Y our engine will not r un properly using a dir ty air fi lter . Replace pre-cleaner after e very 25 hours of operation or e very season. Ser vice paper car tr idge e very 100 hours of operation or e ver y season, whiche ver occurs fi rst.
19 SER VICE AND ADJUSTMENTS W ARNING: T O A V OID SERIOUS INJUR Y , BEFORE PERFORMING ANY SER VICE OR AD JUST MENTS: • Depress clutc h/brake pedal fully and set parking brake. • Place motion control le ver in neutral (N) position. • Place attachment c lutch in “DISENGA GED” position.

22 SER VICE AND ADJUSTMENTS TRANSAXLE MO TION CONTROL LE VER NEUTRAL ADJUSTMENT(See Fig. 24) The motion control le ver has been pre set at the f actor y and adjustment should not be necessar y . • Loosen adjustment bolt in front of the right rear wheel, and lightly tighten.
